Are we really going to compare Padilla to Pedro BW? Pedro hasn't done this once, he is a HOF pitcher for a reason and he out pitched Padilla in that game and left WITH THE LEAD. Blame the bullpen.

When you can go to Los Angeles and pitch 7 shutout innings on only 87 pitches and allow 2 hits and ZERO walks, i don't want to hear any of that crap about Pedro being too old or anything else. It is what it is and he had the BEST start on that whole Phillies roster in that series. He deserves a start and one of the 1st 2 imo.

He pitched a great game, I was surprised just like everybody else. JA Happ was 12-4 with a 2.93 ERA during the season. I honestly hope Pedro pitches game 2, like I've been hearing, I think it makes for a very interesting game.

Cliff Lee will be pitching Games 1, 4 and 7.... Pedro goes game 2 and hamels goes game 3.. Yankees are fucked!

Manual said that either Blanton or Happ will start in 5 or 6 depending on how Pedro does in game 2 or Hamels in game 3.

Win or lose, a very smart move pitching Pedro in NY imo.

I think Charlie pitches Hamels in game 2, Pedro in game 3. I agree I would pitch Happ instead of Blanton, the kid deserves it, had one helluva year, mostly as a starter.

I have tickets for game 3, Diamond Club section F row 10, best seats in the house. Still may not go though if my 2 sons have off from work I will give them the 2 tickets to enjoy the game, I was there last year and it is something you have to experience at least once in your life if you are a Phillies fan and who knows when it will happen again.

If Lee pitches games 1, 4 and 7, that means he'll be pitching games 4 and 7 on 3 days rest. For CC I don't see that being a problem, but for Lee it might be. Pitching lefties doesn't mean the Yankees are fucked. They did best against Kazmir and Saunders against the Angels.

They never ever should have started Saunders. I don't care what he did in game 2, you were playing with fire starting him again. Weaver was their 2nd best or best starter all year. Where was he? Even you told me how much Saunders sucked during fantasy baseball, remember? He got shut down for basically sucking. Why he started over Weaver is beyond me. If you have a good lefty, there is a difference between them and Saunders!

I agree. They fell for the old, Yankees can't hit lefties because of the short porch in right trap, as if that really make a difference. Weaver was way better, and he was better than Kazmir also.

I couldn't and still can't understand why their 5th starter was starting in game 6. They should have thrown Weaver and Lackey out there. I really think Scioscia did a horrible, horrible job in that series of managing.

I do not want Pedro pitching in game 2. I say save him for game 3 at home. Pedro pitching in NY is not something I would be interesting in. Did everyone forget about "The Yankees are my Daddy"? Pitch him at home where the crowd will be going nuts for him. Blanton game 2, Pedro 3, Hamels 4.....

Heard on the radio this morning Happ might not be getting a start because of a dead arm. That was speculation but is a possiblity.

Mike, That statement by Pedro was more a joke than anything. Don't buy into it.

Pedro Martinez in 16 career Yankee Stadium starts is (8-4) with a 2.95 Era, with 134 K's, 25 Walks and 4 complete games. He may have said it but the Yankees are his bitch in that Stadium, so you may want to change your opinion on this one.

Any opponent who has started 16 games in Yankee Stadium and has an era under 3, should get a start there

Nope, as far as I know Pedro has never pitched in this stadium
