I agree with you that the war and the reasons for it were a mistake of epic proporations. The reasons we were told the war was necessary never existed.

But with regards to the rhetoric leading up to the war, which is what your post refers to...how was it different than what Clinton was saying the last 2+ years he was in office? The intelligence that Bush had was wrong...but it was the same intelligence Clinton had and he said most of the same things. So why does Clinton get a pass for lying if you are going to kill Bush for it?

Kaz, I guess then all of the politicians below are liars? The second one would lead you to believe we were headed to some type of conflict....

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
      President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998.

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
      President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998.

"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
      Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998.

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998.

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998.

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999.

"There is no doubt that . Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, Dec, 5, 2001.

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
Sen. Carl Levin (d, MI), Sept. 19, 2002.

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
      Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
      Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seing and developing weapons of mass destruction."
Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002.

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force — if necessary — to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
      Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002.

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years . We also should remember we have alway s underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
Sen. Jay Rockerfeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002,

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do."
Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction. "[W]ithout question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. And now he has continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ...
      Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003.

        Laughing out loud!!!

        War Crimes??? LOL

Nice list Three Jack. Hell we might as well skip the whole damn impeach thing. Lets just hang them all. It will be fun we can have a public hanging!!!

Or we could just throw them into prison somewhere in the South Pacific for 5 years - and see how their personal lives turn out. And when we bring them back laugh at them, make fun of them, call them pieces of shit because their marriages are on the rocks and they might get divorced!

The difference is, HE declared War on iraq......Many lives have been lost because his 'information' wasn't accurate. Whether it was supplied to him inaccurately or not.

There is a list of war crimes....Sad to say. Are you forgetting the treatment of prisoners of war under his watch at Guantanamo Bay? That's just one....Wonder what the response would have been if our prisoners were treated like that?

What's sad is, that none of you on the right side can admit that he is the biggest piece of shit we've ever had. You'll just defend him because he's a Conservative. You'll accept the over a trillion spending on the war that comes out of your tax dollar. You'll accept the 100,000 dead civilian's and 5000 dead soldiers. You'll accept gas prices escalating to crush the economy. The list goes on and on. And I don't feel like continuing it.

He was voted as one of the worst presidents ever by 100 scholars around the country. Yet the sheep will follow him right off the edge o the cliff......Sad

At least conservative ideologists with an ounce of wisdom have given up on him.

Has he borken the Geneva convention? Has he actually broken a law? Again...your personal feelings on the subject is getting in the way of your judgement. I cannot prove that he hasnt committed a crime but the burden of proof doesnt lie with the status quo in this country. Because you are simply mad that soldiers have died, which tends to happen when there are extended battles, is not a reason to impeach the president. If you would like to take the road that he is diverting funds from social programs such as education and welfare then fine we can argue that from 2 points. First...there are large fund pools that get raided to fund social programs all the time. Borrowing against social security is one of these examples. Second...where in the constitution does it say that the government is allowed to implement these social programs? Unfortunately we have been conditioned to simply accept these things though the legality of them is NOT solid. You can also not make an honest stand that these programs are hurting or that we are diverting funds illegally or even at all.

You state that he lied and fixed intelligence. If this were true how come they cannot get impeachment proceding thru a non-POTUS friendly congress? This seems to me that it should be a reasonably easy thing to do should something as simple as Bush lied under oath and made sure that intelligence pointed towards the side he wished to pursue. I find this hard to believe. What did he do? Sit down at his laptop e-mail his buddies in the military and say..."I need intel that will lead us to war". Or did he simply use his word processor to make up his own false reports and then use his personal copy machine to make 30 copies of his butt and 20 of these false reports?

The problem with your widespread conspiracy theory is that somewhere along the line someone with larger political ambition would rat him out. There would be defections from him in record numbers to try and distance themselves to salvage their own careers. There hasnt been evidence of this. In 5 years no one has been able to dig up the dirt to actually be able to procede.

People on your side have over and over again stated how they cant stand Bush because of how stupid he is...Cant even speak...Just plain stupid. Which is it? Is he stupid or is he soo smart that he can make this gigantic elaborate plan and pull the wool over everyone's eyes?

              PK
You are seriously blind.....read I guess

There is a resolution to impeach him now in Congress. Pelosi turned it away. Won't get voted on until after his term is up. The damage has been done. Impeaching would do nothing to correct his wrongdoings. What good would come of it?

Keep ignoring the facts I guess.....follow blindly along sheep

Kaz, why do you think I am defending the Prez? I am not defending the President. He has done a poor job. We are in a war that, while I personally believe was necessary, happened for reasons of which did not exist. But to A) not think the country was heading in the direction of war prior to Bush and B) not give Clinton as much blame if you are going to blame Bush for believing there were WMD's in Iraq, is very shortsighteed and naive, imo. Read the quotes. I love the one by John Kerry...."I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force — if necessary — to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." And then you want to stand on your pedestal and tell me we would not be in the same predicament if Kerry was elected President? Get your head out of the sand!!!

And then blame him for gas prices through the roof? I guess he is to blame for $11 a gallon in Turkey, $10 a gallon in Greece and the high prices around the world? Heck, our prices are some of the cheapest in the world. I would blame the President and prior administrations for not having a sense of urgency in finding alternate means, but I can't blame him for the price of a gallon of gas. It's the bi-partisan BS that you and others spew that has put us in this position. Split the blame across the board...Repubs, Dems, Independants...everyone has a hand in it.

First....So what if Kerry stated that? Bush was the one who declared war. Not Kerry. Quit trying to find other people to blame for this war. It was Bush and his administration. And no, Clinton was not as much to blame. He didn't go to war with Iraq. Period. He imposed economic sanctions to allow us to continue to use UN monitoring of their country.

2nd and more importantly.....The price of gas has escalated globally because of the weakened dollar. That is a fact. As the dollar gets weaker, the global economy is suffering and gas prices have increased exponentially. Again, Bush is to blame. The war has crippled our economy. It has cost trillions of dollars out of our tax money and has sent the federal deficit into oblivion. Which Clinton had all but got rid of. Think about a trillion dollars.....100 million makes a billion and 100 billion makes a trillion....Catastrophic. $1,000,000,000,000

You are too much!! Who is TRYING to find others to blame. How many times have I said Bush f'd up? We went to war for all of the wrong reasons. Your hatred for Bush must be fogging up your glasses, if you wear them. Bush declared war and he gets all the blame...agreed!

However, to think we wer enot heading in that direction if Clinton was still in office or if Kerry was President is short sighted. READ THE QUOTES! THEY SAID IT, not me!!!! Everything they said would lead you to believe we would be in this war even if Bush wasn't Prez. What would have changed? Kerry specifically said he supported the use of force?

I said Clinton deserved part of the blame for WMD's, not war. EVERYONE believed he had them. Again, read the quotes. How about this one, from YOUR girl. Your criticized Bush for linking Al Qaeda to Iraq...well, here is a fellow Dem that believed the same exact thing!!!

The point is the Prez deserves the blame for the war, but everyone believed what he was saying was true and I believe, no matter who was pPrez, given the atrociously bad information our intelligence provided, we would be in this debacle. To each his own.

The debate about illegal immigrants coming here is a long and arduous one. Many of the things you posted are up for debate and some just might be inaccurate. They are taken from unpublished reports with little accountability. The immigration problem is a slippery slope. On one hand, you have immigrants who come here sponsored. A large portion as a matter of fact. Some come here from over the Mexico border. You cannot simply pull these people from the fields and send them home. We already have a labor shortage in Calif. Believe it or not. Who will do the most difficult labor in 110 temps for minimum wage or less? Do you think these people don't spend their money here? Do you want to pay $10 for a head of lettuce because the labor force is demanding $20 an hour to pick lettuce? You just think getting rid of them solves the problem. It only creates more problems. Again, the fix is not so easy......
