Chado for what its worth I believe that you did lose 5,000 on this game.....thats what compulsive people do is they look for extreme shit to do to get them on the edge.
As dumb as this may sound I think it might be better for you in the long run that you actually lost because if you did win this bet you would have started doing this type of thing over and over and you mightve learned a much costlier lesson in the end.
I am 30 now and when I was 19 I thought I was cool when I beat my local for almost 10 grand but guess what I wired 7 of it to some fuck in Vegas who I thought was my golden goose....before I knew it I owed the local 5K, Im broke and I had wired some faggot in Vegas 7K....to make a long story short unless you are a professional the amount of money one puts on a game is meaningless because this is just a hobby.
You tried stepping out and actually making a quick grand intsead of enjoying the game with a nice wager on it....I have....some people have great self control but people like you and me arent and we need to even tread more carefully when doing something self destructive such as gambling/drinkinging/drugs because it can consume you.
Im sure today you think you will never do this again because you are still stung from the loss but ask yourself this....if something came up in a year and you thought you can make a quick grand would you do it again? Right now you will answer no but trust me in a year from now I think you will do the same thing again....that is where the problem is. Anyone can say anything to make you feel better or kick you while you are down but in all honesty both wouldnt be worth a lick on this chat board...thats just the brutal truth. Its up to you man.....this isnt the first time you have done this and like I said it most likely will not be the last....remember when you maxed out every card you had on some hockey wager a while back that you thought couldnt miss? Ask yourself if you really want to stop...youy are not weak because you have stopped using for nearly a full year so if you want to do something about I know you can....you just have to ask yourself is this that destructive that I really want to stop....if not you will be walking down this same path once again, that I know.
Continued success

The thing is I want to quit gambling and it is my next up on my addiction list but not quite yet:
So far I have quit:
1.) Smoking weed
2.) Popping exstacy pills
3.) Sniffing perqs
4.) Sniffing oxys
5.) Sniffing cocain
6.) Smoking crack
7.) Drinking alcohol
All of these above are for 10 and 1/2 months!!!
Right now I only have two left that I havent quite got there yet:
1.) Quitting Gambling
2.) Quitting smoking Cigarettes
7 down and only 2 left....its a lot better than most people at the my age of 22 can say they have already stopped but does not justify it though.....almost there...
Hmmm...anything else I forgot out of this OCD addicition lost for me....hey Chunger...who loves ya babe who loves ya....Last edited by Chado1; 02-04-2008, 06:14 PM.SOBER SINCE MARCH 28TH OF 2007!!!

Calling Dr. Phil?
Chado, when I was your age, I lost $15,000 in 2 weeks. Luckily, I had a VERY understanding dad that bailed my ass out. I learned a very valuable lesson at that time. Did it stay with me? Hell no. I lost $10,000 in 1 season about 10 years ago, but I could afford that and it did not affect my lifestyle at all. Now I can afford to lose a lot more than that, I just choose not to.
I think I remember you saying that you had maxed out your credit cards a while back after a few big losses. Is it worth it to stay in debt your entire life? I'm not doubting how much you had on the ML yesterday. Whatever it was, it was more than you had to lose.
I think it's great about all the addictions you have overcome so far. Sit back and think about the future and what you want to accomplish. Then factor in where gambling is going to take you. Those 2 paths CANNOT cross.
Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

This Is My Opinion On This Matter.for One This Was Not A Chokejob At All.its A Football Game Where One Team Has The Weight Of The World On Thier Shoulders And The Other Team Had Nothing To Lose.alll And I Mean All Of The Pressure Was On The Pats Last Night.johann Santana Is The Best And Most Dominant Pitcher In Baseball Hands Down.if He Pitched For The Yankees And Had That Run Support Every Game Do You Think He Would Go 30-0 For The Year.no Fucking Way In Hell.if He Went 29-1 And Lost To The Devil Rays 7-6 On A Carl Crawford Inside The Park Homer Mean He Choked.no Just Means He Had An Off Night.michael Jordan Did Not Score 40 Every Night Wilt Did Not Get 20 Rebounds Every Night People Are Human.9 Times Out Of 10 Pats Win This Game.last Night Just Was Not The NightMLB 2012***100-98 +$215 OR +2.15 UNITS
