I swear, it seems like we are becoming a communist country lately. Anyone that speaks their mind gets branded for it if it isn't politically correct. The words Politic and correct should never be in the same sentence anyway. I'm so sick of the "Politically Correct" world we live in now. The golf girl said what was no doubt a joke. It wasn't done out of hatred or racism. People get laughing and joking and sometimes you say things you think are humorous without worrying about offending anyone and you don't worry about it because that was never your intention. As far as Dana Jacobsen goes, i feel the same way as i do the golf girl. It was a roast. If you have ever seen late night roasts on comedy central, you would know what they are about. They are usually some of the most vulgar insensitive comedy one liners you will ever see. They get nasty. They were toasting Mike & Mike and Golic went to Notre Dame. She was obviously doing what they do and trashing everything that surrounds the person you are roasting. If he went to Michigan St and she said Fuck The Spartans and fuck whatever, we probably would never have heard about it. Well, he went to a catholic school. Man, people who get offended with shit other people say in a joking manner, no matter what is said are just wound too tight. Who gives a fuck, if everyone in this country spent as much time taking care of things in their own home instead of worrying about this crap, we would be a MUCH better country for it. There are much bigger problems in this world and i don't care if it is said on T.V. or at the water cooler, it should be treated the same.
Wayne you are correct, but its a white person talking about Mike and Mike...if they were a diff race or religon this would be a far bigger issue than it is....look at tiger woods, he came on tv and said he knew she was joking as they have been friends for yrs...But now we have Jim Brown demanding her firing and chastizing Tiger...they wont let it just drop

I agree. I personally think that if a person works on a public forum like TV or radio than that person should have more responsibilty for his or her actions. When Dana and the golf chic said this, they spoke the truths in their opinions otherwise why bring it up? Right? This is not a Dem or Rep thing. Its about people who have ill manner for ND and Tiger Woods domination. As far as freedom of speech, that just goes for a person's own home only, not on a public forum like TV and Radio. JMO

It's called freedom of speech. It is there for a reason. The owners of my company are all Italian through and through. We are constantly joking with my boss using Italian jokes and shit. He laughs and knows we are kidding. They are the best people i've ever worked for and i couldn't ask for a better boss. Does me making fun of Italians mean i do not like them or i'm? I mean it was my thoughts and i did say it right? Give me a break, people are so god damn worried when someone doesn't think the same way that they do and it is sickening. Maybe your manners and theirs are viewed differently. I guess since they don't think, speak and live like you that they should be penalized for it huh. It's getting friggin' ridiculous in this country with being told what we can and can't say on a daily basis ........ LIGHTEN THA' FUCK UP PEOPLE. Go Rub one out or something!

According to some news and sports websites, ESPN anchorwoman Dana Jacobson graphically attacked Jesus Christ at a recent roast of her colleagues; she was reportedly intoxicated. At the January 11 event, Jacobson roared from the podium, “F*** Notre Dame,” “F*** Touchdown Jesus,” and finally “F*** Jesus.”

Commenting on this is Catholic League president Bill Donohue:

“When pressed on this issue, ESPN’s response is to e-mail a statement by Jacobson, which includes the following: ‘My remarks about Notre Dame were foolish and insensitive. I respect all religions and did not mean anything derogatory by my poorly chosen words.’

“This response fails on several counts. First, there is no evidence that ESPN is taking this matter seriously. Are we to believe that her hate speech is of no consequence? Her comments were not made at a private function, rather they were made at a public event where she represented ESPN. Second, it is worth recalling that it was during a luncheon interview that Jimmy ‘The Greek’ Snyder made his racist remarks about blacks, and CBS Sports promptly fired him anyway. Third, it is also important to note that being drunk didn’t help Mel Gibson’s case when he made bigoted remarks about Jews.

“Then there is the matter of Jacobson’s so-called apology. By far the most offensive thing she said, ‘F*** Jesus,’ isn’t even addressed! It is obvious, then, that neither Jacobson nor ESPN is dealing with this matter in a professional way. To put this issue behind them, ESPN must deal with this issue quickly, publicly and fairly, something it has yet to do. After all, most Christians are yet unaware of this event, but once they learn of it, they are sure to demand accountability.”

GREAT POST! I couldn't agree more. I'm sick and tired of people getting their panties in bunch over meaningless BS. It's someone's opinion. Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

So it makes a difference, because it was a roast?

IMO if you're on live TV in front of millions of people you should be careful of what you say as it could be easily taken out of context. You would think that these people would know this by now.
