  • Espn Anchorwoman Trashes Jesus Christ

    January 22, 2008

    According to some news and sports websites, ESPN anchorwoman Dana Jacobson graphically attacked Jesus Christ at a recent roast of her colleagues; she was reportedly intoxicated. At the January 11 event, Jacobson roared from the podium, “F*** Notre Dame,” “F*** Touchdown Jesus,” and finally “F*** Jesus.”

    Commenting on this is Catholic League president Bill Donohue:

    “When pressed on this issue, ESPN’s response is to e-mail a statement by Jacobson, which includes the following: ‘My remarks about Notre Dame were foolish and insensitive. I respect all religions and did not mean anything derogatory by my poorly chosen words.’

    “This response fails on several counts. First, there is no evidence that ESPN is taking this matter seriously. Are we to believe that her hate speech is of no consequence? Her comments were not made at a private function, rather they were made at a public event where she represented ESPN. Second, it is worth recalling that it was during a luncheon interview that Jimmy ‘The Greek’ Snyder made his racist remarks about blacks, and CBS Sports promptly fired him anyway. Third, it is also important to note that being drunk didn’t help Mel Gibson’s case when he made bigoted remarks about Jews.

    “Then there is the matter of Jacobson’s so-called apology. By far the most offensive thing she said, ‘F*** Jesus,’ isn’t even addressed! It is obvious, then, that neither Jacobson nor ESPN is dealing with this matter in a professional way. To put this issue behind them, ESPN must deal with this issue quickly, publicly and fairly, something it has yet to do. After all, most Christians are yet unaware of this event, but once they learn of it, they are sure to demand accountability.”

      Unbelievable, if she would have said F++K - Alla or Mohamed there would be a price on her head.

        She should be suspended for 2 weeks without pay. Just like the lady announcer for the golf channel for her comment on Tiger Woods.

                What this lady said and what the golf channel lady said are not even comparable imo. I think it was a crock of shit that the golf channel lady got suspended, this lady on the other hand definitely needs suspension if not termination.

                  I woudln't suspend either one. Free country, freedom of speech, and everyone needs to stop being so damn sensitive. I'm Catholic, and I don't give a shit what she said. Her comments reflect on her, not anyone else. I don't give two shits what someone I'll never know thinks or says.

                    Great job Harold Bush, you said it best. You know what it's all about, and I couldn't agree with you more on this issue.

                    Dana Jacobson graphically attacked Jesus Christ at a recent "ROAST" of her colleagues;

                    It was a ROAST! I'm sure you all know what a ROAST is. For those that don't, I'm not talking about the one you put in the oven. Anything goes when you roast someone and everyone knows it. I don't understand why everyone runs to defend someone they never met, seen, and may not even exist.

                      Freedom of Speech is prevelant but when you work for ESPN or anyone for that matter you better act in a manner of conduct that they approve or you can say F Jesus from the comfort of your own home

                      PEACE

                        there is such a double standard in this country its not even funny...if she said anything about MLk, ALLA, or anything else she woulda been fired, roast or not...so if you actually think there is a freedom of speech in this country, your brainwashed and thats what the 1 world government liberals want you to be...

                          I agree 1000%

                          I swear, it seems like we are becoming a communist country lately. Anyone that speaks their mind gets branded for it if it isn't politically correct. The words Politic and correct should never be in the same sentence anyway. I'm so sick of the "Politically Correct" world we live in now. The golf girl said what was no doubt a joke. It wasn't done out of hatred or racism. People get laughing and joking and sometimes you say things you think are humorous without worrying about offending anyone and you don't worry about it because that was never your intention. As far as Dana Jacobsen goes, i feel the same way as i do the golf girl. It was a roast. If you have ever seen late night roasts on comedy central, you would know what they are about. They are usually some of the most vulgar insensitive comedy one liners you will ever see. They get nasty. They were toasting Mike & Mike and Golic went to Notre Dame. She was obviously doing what they do and trashing everything that surrounds the person you are roasting. If he went to Michigan St and she said Fuck The Spartans and fuck whatever, we probably would never have heard about it. Well, he went to a catholic school. Man, people who get offended with shit other people say in a joking manner, no matter what is said are just wound too tight. Who gives a fuck, if everyone in this country spent as much time taking care of things in their own home instead of worrying about this crap, we would be a MUCH better country for it. There are much bigger problems in this world and i don't care if it is said on T.V. or at the water cooler, it should be treated the same.
