Sorry about this repost but if you don't like it here or if you think its better somewhere else - LEAVE !!!
My son-in-law just got back from afganistian. He might not agree with everything that is being done but he went to fight so that we have the right to our freedom. The media lies and manipulates things to stir the negative. This is a FACT. Some things he has told me that REALLY go on over in Iraq are twisted BIG time by the media to suit who they want and to sell their articles. Don't believe half of what you read. Talk to someone who has been there.

Nice quote Dave. Awesome really! My son-in-law has had 3 tours in Iraq. Nicest kid anywhere.
Just my thoughts! As a Vietnam vet myself, I realize the mentality of those on both sides of the war. Frustration is growing as terrorists are becoming what Nostradamus indicated back in the 12th or 13th century. I remembered he mentioned a dude with a blue turbin and that 2009 or 2010 would be the apocalypse. Scary! Not much is said about that- but it makes you wonder.
As for those not taking score- Terrorists (be it which ever group you wish to call) have invaded all aspects of the worlds economy- which is the overall plan- bankrupt the countries by fear. Those countries sitting back are hoping it doesn't come to them.
But in reality T. cells are formulating and its not just Bush creating the problem. Martyrs are generally drugged up to carry out the plan. Their families are suppose to be taken care of. The civilians killed in a terrorists compound are alot of these families but to the world it looks as if we massacred (misspelled) the civilians of Iraq.
I don't have answered- I believe we opened a pandoras box by attacking Iraq without proof of wmd. Saddam was an ass and tortured many but he stabilized the region of so many factions. Now by leaving - I think of the those surrounding Saigon that could not retreat and it is sad- if this happens in Iraq. The killing will just begin then. Life as they knew it will be a memory. Iran and Syria will embark on presenting their style of government. Kuwait will tremble once again.
Before anyone can understand the full measure of terrorists activity- one has to understand the culture. Since the culture is divided up in religios sects- the purging of these sects as history has seen- is mindboggling.
We may have less than 5000 killed but the plight of dealing with terrorists must also include the folks we lost in 911.
On that note- I believe Iraq should not have been invaded in hindsight.
I believe that Bush will put alot of effort in getting Bin Laden in the upcoming months, the civil war will continue in Iraq, the american interests worldwide will get considerable attention, Pakistan will be getting more press coverage as it is believed that Bin Laden is hiding there on the border, news media will continue to give away vital locations and underscore the war as propaganda for the terrorists, Bush will be backed into a corner by not having the money to continue on and the Americans coming home from the war will be scarred from many aspects of this war.
The only hope is that we take the fight to them before they take it to us. The Russians could not defeat Afganistan which was their Viet Nam. We can endured the war much longer in the way we are going! So We must either get the International community to pitch in oreventually go bankrupt trying to kill cockroaches over many countries. Nuff said!Last edited by Spearit; 07-18-2007, 09:06 AM."The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.

another great post. i give Bush credit for taking a chance, most politicians don't want to do that. people that are willing to take a risk are the ones that are remembered, good or bad. time will tell.
you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. if you don't take out a brutal dictator, you are criticized, and if you do and the country is destabilized, your criticized. you can try and help a country, but if they don't want to help themselves, walk away and let them fight it out themselves.
it doesn't matter who is in office. the press and opposition party will find something to criticize. it has gotten out of control. all they care about is themselves, not the good of the country. the opposite of our soldiers!“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

This just is not on you Dave, it's to everyone who makes this STUPID ASS STATEMENT!
I don't have to LEAVE if I don't like it. The way I see it is that it's my job to STAY and make it a better place. It's called a DEMOCRACY. But you guys on the right get Democracy and Dictatorship mixed up all the time. And it shows with that statement!
