No doubt he's an ass...he's overly abrasive, and unfortunately that precludes people from listening to him.
I don't agree with the conclusion that universal healthcare is the answer - it's far from it (and if hilary is elected, we are screwed) - but the fact is that Moore one of the only people to coherently bring attention to the ridiculous healthcare problem in this country.
If the media did it's job, like the founding fathers intended, we wouldn't have to listen to MM babble. Also, the way they showed that clip before bringing him on was pretty amatuerish. Obviously Moore didn't handle it well...but CNN shouldn't have done that.
Do yourself a favor and read Ron Paul's take on healthcare -

As a trained MD, he's the only candidate that truly understands the complexities of the issue. Frankly, he's the only candidate who I can stomach.

Here's Gupta's response to Moore-

It's amazing what happens when live TV emotion is taken away from the discussion, and someone can put their thoughts on paper. Dr. Gupta comes across really well in my opinion.

It shouldn't be about either. Anyone who polarizes the political discussion does infinitely more damage than good. It's Moore's largest flaw. He can't just make a great point without oozing sarcasm that just prevents half the country from hearing him.
Anyone who says he's full of shit just isn't being honest with themselves about what he is saying. If you are pissed off about how he says it, then I think you are in the majority. But if you think he's 100% wrong, then you are just kidding yourself.
