ANALYSIS
It's all about the hometeam getting some much needed revenge at tonigut.
In a nutshell, they should have beaten this team last year in the AFC championship game and went to the Super bowl but the bottom line is they just couldn't close the deal.
Well, at home today, against a beaten down Patriots offensive line, a line that couldn't protect Brady last week at home against the Cardinals.
Let's face it, you start losing at home to the Kevin Kolb led Arizona Cardinals as a double digit home favorite, you have serious problems with your ball club.
And going into Baltimore and facing a Ravens team that knows deep down they are better than you, off a loss like that, well let's just say this could get ugly.
I know all the numbers supporting the Patriots as an underdog and Belichick off a loss but fact of the matter is, if you can't protect at home against Arizona, you aren't going to be able to do it 7 days later on the road against Baltimore.
Did the Patriots go out and sign some better offensive lineman? Did they get younger fresher bodies to fix the leaks in this banged up "O" line?
No they did not and taking the field tonight behind these guys has got to make Tom Brady nervous.
The bottom line is this folks: You don't lose at home to the Arizona Cardinals and go on the road the next week and beat the Ravens I don't care who you are.
And it is out of respect for the Patriots and how much they are bet as a public team that vegas can get away with operning this number at 3 and even seducing Pat's money pushing it down to under a field goal.
I will gladly take that kind of value all day long and lay the small chalk and call for the Ravens to do what they should have done last year in the AFC championship game: beat New England.
The Patriots haven't seen this new huddle approach by the Ravens and they will have their hands full stopping it and stopping Flacco, who outplayed Tom Terrific in that playoff game last year.
You have great numbers supporting both sides.
New England is 10-4 ATS folllowing an ATS loss and 13-6 ATS last 19 versus the AFC and 50-24-3 ATS last 77 road games. Pretty damn impressive.
However, the Ravens are 4-1 ATS last 5 in September and 6-2 ATS last 8 games after allowing more than 250 yards passing in their prevyous game.
Lastly, favorite or underdog, the Patriots are 1-3-1 ATS last 5 meetings.
Revenge is a dish best served up with violence and that my friends makes the Ravens the waiter today.
Roll with the small chalk at home with my 3rd straight win on Sunday night.
