He walked 1 batter. I could have made the dp to end the game. 2 errors in the 9th, yes, 2 errors. Blame it on Wood if you want, but I'll blame the 2 errors.

I couldn't agree more with Pinella. It's like they are waiting for the next thing to happen to lose. And as long as Milwaukee keeps losing, they shrug it off. Soto had a horrid game yesterday, and it might go un-noticed. He didn't score in the 4th on Dempster's single that Ankiel bobbled and that cost us a 4th run. He also didn't get a good bunt in the 8th after a leadoff walk by Edmonds. It's the little things that are killing us. Two straight games we lose gems by Dempster who threw one bad pitch and Marshall, who might be the worst luck pitcher in the game. He's spot started for us 6 times, and 4 of those times he gives up 3 runs or less and we lose 3 of those games.

I'm not sure this is just a flick of a switch thing, like the Bears defense in pre season vs Sunday night...I don't think the Cubs can do that.

I'm not worried because it's gonna take even a more monumental collapse for us not to at least make the playoffs, so in that aspect I'm ok....but the way we're playing both Arizona and the Dodgers could sweep us in three.

I said I didn't want to face the D-Backs in a short series....I might be second guessing that the way the Dodgers are playing right now.

I'm not making excuses. This is a good ball club. This is a team that should make the world series. Anything less is totally unacceptable in my opinion. Now it's time to start playing like a good ball club, not one that's worried about the next black cat, goat or alex gonzalez error, brant brown, leon durham, etc etc etc.

Phillies have a head-to-head with the Brewers left and are only 3 games back in the wild card. The way the Brewers are playing Cubbies may be facing the Phillies instead of the Dodgers. I guess either way, the Cubs will be facing a hot team. If the Phillies pull of the wild card they will have been on a winning tear at the right time and the Dodgers are obviously on one now.
