As far as investing...I think..me PERSONALLY....think that the TIME you invest whether it be watching it on tv, listening on radio or going to the games far outweight monitary controbutions.
I may be in the minority on this one...but that's my feeling.

It doesn't outweigh the people who do both. Eat sleep & breath the game, talking about it everyday AND attending games! You can think that but arguing that point with some people like (Spark) falls on deaf ears imo!

I think your right to a point...but to those that can't attend games I don't think its fair to exclude us.
I think I'm a bigger fan then 99% of those that go to the Cubs games.
If I could, I'd be at the games. It's just not feesable right now.
the bruins still torture their most die-hard fans......many who haven't gone to a game in years. Alot of franchises (like the Bruins) have lots of money invested in their cable networks (bruins own part of nesn) so they won't feel it TOO bad even if the attendance slips.
OMG John you are joking ... I would leave my house at 9am and would not get home till 6-7 .. and that is just going to the game and back ... You can not compare that with sitting in your living room and watching the game on the TV ... and the getus I would spend at the park and for tickets ... Pal, How many games did you go to when you lived here??? and yes it matters, if you support your team you are at the games .. not in your living room ...

Oh god please don't get me going on the Bruins and Mr. Jacobs. Joe Thornton???
the bruins are an embarassment on EVERY level. And the amazing part is that the only people who actually cover hockey in Boston STILL defend them. Dale Arnold STILL defends the Thornton trade!!!!
the casual sports fan has tuned them out long ago, which is amazing since they used to own boston.
How far is the ATL from you John. Seriously, pre kid, knowing it was coming and you made no attempt to get a game in??? If i were you buddy, i would have found tickets to all 3 sox games, driven there and spent the weekend BUT you are a much BIGGER Fan of the Cubs than i am of my teams i guess!

Before I worked there (and I was at every game for 3 years) I would go to at least 30 games per year from age 13-19.
Buddy, I am not questioning your reasons for being fed up nor saying they are less important then mine....
I think I'm fighting an uphill battle here....If I'm in the minority on this, I understand and there is ZERO disrespect. It's just how I feel.
I guess I am made to feel less of a fan because I live 700 miles away and I don't think that's right.

My old neighbor used to DJ at a radio station and his Boss was good friends with Jacobs. He used to go down to Buffalo 2 or 3 times a year and spend time at Jacobs house. First off, why is the owner of the Bruins living comfortably in BUFFALO?
He said straight out that talking to Jacobs, Jeremy was laughing and saying how he doesn't have to do anything and the Bruins will still make money. He said he could care less about winning and that making money is all that matters. I heard that 2 years ago and have not been to a game since!

I think i would catch a few different teams in the ATL with face value tickets available, no doubt. Just think, you could go Scout teams for your service!
