Love German Shepards, but never owned one. I hear that they are smart and great dogs.

Where do you live? Those mountain retreat looks nice and peaceful.

That is Skinner Mountain over looking the Ct River Valley in the Western Part of Massachusettes. Grew up in the city, now I like my rural life style. Mass is a very rural state once you past Worcester. German Shepards are great dogs, very loyal and smart, but obey all commands. I will not own anything other than a German Shepard and I have had dogs my entire life.

Mark have they not banned them in your area? They've banned them and I believe Rotweillers within the city here were i'm at. Which IMO is BS. Pitt bulls have such a bad reputation and usually its the owners fault for the behaivor of the dog.

There not banned, but they just tried passing a bill that would make you pay $250 a year to have them registered and make you put up a six foot privacy fence in your yard. Luckily, it did not pass. Pit's do have a bad rep. It's all how you raise the dog. Most negative stories about Pit's you here are from inner city drug dealer dogs or the ones bred for fighting.

My mom had a Shar-Pei and that thing was possesive as hell when it came to her. He eventually had to be put to sleep as he had developed cancer so bad that he couldn't walk on his back legs anymore.

I personally own 2 Jack Russell Terriers right now.

American Bulldogs are bad ass looking dogs. I almost chose one of those before I got my 2nd Jack Russell. They kinda look like a Pitt Bull and a American Stafford Shire.

Yea, those American Bulldogs are very unique looking. Almost have a face of a Pitbull, and like the body of a Bull Mastif.

We don't have any immediate plans to get married, but I think I'm running out of time to keep saying we're just gonna keep dating. Although she's young, so hopefully I can keep convincing her that's SHE'S not ready yet.

Wait till she finds out that I"m inviting everyone from BC!!!!

What I find intriguing about this thread is that it appears unless I missed something that I appear to be the only one who has a cat.
I think stats show there are actually more cats in this country than dogs.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against dogs but just find it interesting that gamblers at least here have a greater preference for dogs than for cats.
Could it possibly be that gamblers like dogs because they play "dogs" when they bet.
We have all heard and used the term "barking dogs" when we bet, but none of us has ever heard or used the term "meowing cats" when we wager.

I do like our cat but i doubt we will be keeping all of the kittens.
