Here's my take for what it's worth...

KB and I had this discussion the other night. I have to agree with Joe here Bry.

First off, arguing politics is fine, as long as you understand that more than likely you are not going to change the opinion of the other person. A person's politics is something that is deeply rooted and is a personal opinion that takes years to formulate at times. One person writing his own opinion on internet forum more than likely won't change the politics of others. Personal attacks will only make the other person guard his/her own political belief.

Secondly, a person is more likely to change political affiliation when their life is affected by various things politicians do that may have an adverse affect upon them. It could be something that happens quickly or something that comes over years of time. But that person in most instances, determines that is the course for them based on THEIR OWN perceptions. Certainly not some guy who says this or that on here.

For instance, I read that some guys changed political affiliation because of the internet gambling law that was suppoted by many Republican's. Why? Because it affected them on a personal level.

Maybe it's higher taxes or less help for the elderly. Who knows, but more than likely it won't come from here and certainly not when all that is being thrown out are personal attacks.

I enjoy arguing politics. It runs in the family. I don't hold a person's politics against them until they get personal with me. The only time I may make a personal attack on someone is when I feel they have left the political arena and made insensitive comments towards others. See Gbell and Jordanstool. I have never thought differently about you Bry, or KB for having different political views than me, other than the fact that the two of you are gay. You're still my friends. The same should be thought of Monte. He's an intelligent guy who's very opinionated......Just my two shits

Dimer, i agree with Joe. Stop being like that, what good is gonna come from it. You dont have to like him to stay here, but berating him with expletives will force his hand.

You have a lot of friends here who want you to BE HERE. So your letting them down by continuing to say the things you are saying.
