I have lived in the South my whole life,so I know what your talking about shutting the town down over 2" of snow. They had alot of school closings in North Georgia but I leave East out I-20 from Atlanta.I think and hope they close the schools down just to give the kids a chance to play in it since it seems to happen once every 3-4 years.I take it you lived up north before you moved to SC?
Yeah grew up in Chicago and moved to SC when I was 21.
I understand it to a point...they don't have the equiptment to salt and plow...but if you took the money lost every day due to the businesses that are closed, I would THINK that you could find it more then affordable to hire some seasonal workers and buy some plow trucks.
With me...I am not afraid to drive in this stuff....it's dangerous yes, but it can still be done safely...I'm scared of everyone else who doesn't know how to drive.
We got two inches here in greenville, sc. The whole damn town shut down.
It amazes me sometimes.

It was nice to see.My 3 year old and 40 year old buddy from Miami saw snow for the first time so it was pretty cool.
