dont buy into the Dale jr. BS. its all hype he struggled bigtime last year and i ask you this.....what has changed??? in reality nothing has but the date on the calandar. His crew and his car are still a mess. IMO he'll finish in the top 10 this year but not in the top 5. I just dont see how. He isnt that good.
He has his cousin back atop his pit box. They have been working hard on their engine program at DEI, they made some changes to their race cars at the end of the year and had some decent machines, he just didn't get the finishes he should have. The guy can flat out race at these plate tracks, learning from the BEST, his old man

He also rolls off 19th tomorrow night, the same position he won from in his victory here in 2003

    Here's that little tidbit Brezze

Dale Earnhardt Jr.: He proudly carried on his father's reputation in this event, coming from farther back (19) to win than anybody in history for his '03 victory.

He also finished second in '02 and '04.

"It's a big party and there's not too many parties I don't make myself a part of,'' Earnhardt said. "I said a couple of years ago, this race is like a bar fight on four wheels.

"I'm pretty sure when it comes to partying and raisin' hell, I run harder than any of these guys, so this race suits my style.''

Restrictor-plate racing in general fits Earnhardt's style as he's won seven times between Daytona (2) and Talladega (5) in points races. His strategy is simple, particularly in the Shootout.

"Go to the front and stay up front and use whatever means to finish up front,'' said Earnhardt, hoping to rebound from missing the Chase in '05. "They don't give you a long time to get it done, so you won't see a lot of drivers exercising patience out there.''
