thank you for asking. Guinness has 1 bad hip.(left one) right one is fine. kelly is taking him back to the vet today @3pm for shots. as of now we are trying to avoid surgury. so he is on a special diet and is taking 3 pills a day for pain. Vet wants him to lose 20lbs, not because he overweight but because he is a large dog and the lighter he is the better his hips will feel regardless of the extent of his injury. We have set a tentitive date with the surgon for early oct. that will be just a pliminary consoltation. nothing more. we will prolly end up having the surgury @ some point but we want to try everything we can first.

I'm glad to hear that you guys are going to keep him and do the surgery if he has to have it done.

20lbs sounds like a lot for a dog to lose. How much does he weigh right now?
