Can someone tell me what AAU stands for. I hear that phrase a million times during my sons baseball and basket ball seasons. I know its the best kids playing in it, but what does it stand for. I have yet to find anyone i know that knows what it stands for.

My boy got selected to play on our local AAU 9 year old basket ball last night. He sure was happy
