It could also possibly be chigger bites I suppose. When I was brushhogging this field, there were millions of chiggers coming out from the tall brush. I don't know how they would have gotten down in my socks and shoes though.

It's like Pringles chips .... Once you start, you can't stop

Try using some Calamine Lotion and try Oatmeal or Cornstarch baths. Cold compresses are soothing also.
