A few games today that are of intereset to me , and toss in the fact that Im not a charter member of the Sgt. Stiffy club ( ) they come strictly from the opposite sex with I would think an entirely different way of thinking about these things .

I often go to extremes with my breakdowns of things , like my view of baseball . The first thing I learned there was that 16 baseballs are made from a single hide and it went from that to extremes that are to numerous to mention .

Failing to capture the elusive grail yesterday in no way dampened my spirits or enthusiasim to face todays challenges , and at 32-14 the last 5 days (10 losses just last nite  ) on my opinions , I feel as though its just a wake-up call .

But fear not as I have yet to have a losing day this month and trudge forth with a 107-50-2 mark in less than the past thirty days . So knowing that , I attempt to offer a few (not like me) that will put me in line with most the members here and go with just a limited amount of looks today , instead of my usual cornacopia .

My first selection comes from ca$heasys warning at the begining of the season about theses guys :

    Cleveland Indians -142

The Twins are flat right now. If anyone watched the game yesterday, you could see Ron Gardenhire trying to lite a fire under his team. He came out of the dugout to scream three times, and got nothing out of his team.

The Twins got a little comfortable at the top and need to fall few games behind Cleveland in the standings before they wake up.

Those same stats I had for the Indians yesterday are present again today, now 16 – 5 against a pitcher with an ERA >5 when favored at home.

Minnesota has been playing great ball all year, but they were due to get cold sooner or later. I still expect a tight race and Minnesota to prevail in the Central, they just need to take their lumps right now.

    *******************************************

    Pittsburgh Pirates -123

I think this is a value pick on the Pirates. Josh Fogg has good numbers when favored at home (9 – 4 overall, 3 – 0 against lefties), and the Pirates are brats at PNC.

I think Pittsburgh can have a respectable finish in the Central (ahead of the Astros?) if they can play .500 ball the rest of the way.

I’m still not sold on this Colorado team being able to play effectively on the road. Joe Kennedy’s numbers are terrible from his Tampa days, but I know they don’t hold much value.

    **********************************************

Tampa Bay Devil Rays @ Texas Rangers Under 10 +100

Ryan Drese has been an Unders machine when pitching in Arlington this year. Drese has 4O/ 8U overall this season at Ameriquest Field.

Jorge Sosa might have a poor record and disappointing ERA, but he has some great stuff and could shut down a team. Texas has not been swinging the bat well lately, and a guy like Sosa can help keep this one Under.

    ********************************************

    Detroit Tigers +132

The Tigers trot out the better pitcher here this afternoon, I think most of us would agree there. Much like the Pirates in the NL, I think Detroit can play .500 ball the rest of the season and really reak havoc in the Central.

They close out September with four games against the Twins and six games against the Indians, helping play a huge part in the division run there. Sele is reminded again today that he is lucky to have the high winning percentage, because he doesn’t deserve it.

Jason Johnson’s team record against the Angels is a respectable 7 – 5, considering all those poor Oriole teams he was on. Tigers finish West Coast swing with series wins against the A’s and Angels.

      haz :

Man you like the tough ones

CWS : Buehrle has been very solid , 4-1 on the road / 2.76 ERA / allowing about 11 men on per / and thats the good part !

      Red-Sox : Arroyo scares me , 2-4 @ home / 5.57 ERA / allows more than 16 per / FAR more hits than innings pitched / last 7 starts the lowest score was 7 | the Highest 21 ???

      -------------------------------------------------------------------

      Yanks : Brown is 3-2 away / 4.29 ERA / allows about 12 per / last 3 below the total (2 @ home)

      Seattle : Meche 1-3 @ home / 5.40 ERA / allows 14 per / last 2 under

      --------------------------------------------------------------------

      Detroit : Johnson is 4-3 away / 3.81 ERA / allows 11 per / 4-2 under last 7

Angels : Sele is 3-1 @ home / 5.00 ERA / allows 17 per ( ) and every single game in his last 7 starts are OVERS ?

      -------------------------------------------------------------------

      Low-Down :

      Safest is the Yanks/Mariners match-up

      Scarest is the Detroit/Angels game

Most Likely Over is the CWS/Boston game (per-numbers)

Best of luck in your choices big guy

                And what of it ?

                ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I post many times a day around here , I use every angle , every piece of info , pick every mind , and post picks that " VERY " often .......... just happen to agree with mine .

cisco , you have been here for a while now and have always been a gentlemen in every sense of the word . Did you ever stop to think that just for one moment that I should spend hours doing things the way that makes you happy , TDS happy , mrhotpicks2 happy , so I can experience this coming from you .

No I cant make you all happy , and no I wont invest my time for free when I get this kind of warm welcoming for the many posts a day I put forth .

Now , I ask you cisco ....... what of it ????

Are we to witch hunt every post on every forum across the nation ........ or just here ????

I was wondering cisco , since you brought it up .

Are you trying in so many words to say I cant cap ?

                "OR"

Are you trying in so many words to stir up a very old pot of shit ?

In either case , let us check the pulse of your posts and Im sure that at least a week before you post them I have seen at least a dozen others say the same thing , picking the very exact game you did .

Am I to surmise that it looks familar , and if thats the case then in turn barge into your post and make very petty arguments that I seen that pick last year somewhere .

No ...... again No I will not do that and why ?

Time my fellow poster ..... strictly time as I cant waste it on such trivia as I am doing now with your beating a dead horse that was brought up by someone else , who knew someone else , who had beers with someone else , who dated a stable hand who knew a poster from somewhere else .

                Point being here :

You have insinuated ( with your very post .... implyed) and singled " JUST ME " out on a issue thats very old and mute . And takes place here as well as every single board in the entire world , and for what cisco ....... for what ? Am I to wait and see if you are Inspector Clouseau and get ( with your absolutely " Startling discovery ) 95% of everyone else here or did your search include " JUST ME " ?

In college (many years ago here) I had a professor who held many degrees and far smarter than you and I make a very profound statement that has stuck with me all my life cisco :

" There isnt a single thing that your mind can come up with , that hasnt already been thought of at least once ! "

Knowing this to be true on my part at least , I then in turn say that any and all picks , any and all selections , any and all words posted , any and all thoughts implyed .

                " Are somebody Elses "

And before anyone replys that it was a copy or paste , well get in line hoss and Latee-Da to you for being so astute . I as well as many others are smart enough to use a function on a computer that saves (as mentioned) Time and just because others are not smart enough to master the complexities of a key board and save time am I to be singled out because I can ? .

And just because a poster says : Dallas + 3 (and not another single word in his post) and I seen it somewhere else a long time ago ...... does that wash his hands of not doing the same thing ........ no it doesnt , not at all ! It implyes to me that hes found something thats right in line with his thinking and since he only types a total of nine characters , hes invested no time . Not to say its his pick , just no time invested thats all !

Thats not the case here cisco as I invest alot of time here and wasting it like I am doing now serves no purpose , so as much as I hate to say you have not found a great discovery , nor have you enlightned anyone to someting they didnt already know ........ I must !

Please stop in again with someone elses views (which you yourself " Just did ") and take the time to put it in your own words so you can show us all just how the " Kettles Black "

                Good Day cisco

                  Almost forgot cisco :

I do games at least two days in advance , sometimes three . And just like the NFL games ( 1st week of preseason ) and futures I posted 3 weeks ago ...... sometimes much further in advance .

So while your at it , why dont you tell us all how others got my ideas or am I to be so pompous as to think they where mine in the first place .......... Not !

I guess in essence Im trying to say that a forums mentality is to give kudos to a poster that is right with his selections , not in any shape or form that they where his in the first place . Just that thru the process of compiling information he arrived at a conclusion , nothing more - nothing less .

They where never the original thoughts , because someone else had already done that .

And it goes without saying that even then hes wrong quite often , but shares the burden of losing :

                  " All by Himself "

Strange game ...... dont ya think ?

POLICY ON PLAGIARISM – English 101

All of us teaching writing assume that you will do honest work and that you will work with your instructor on improving writing that is your own. But, since plagiarism is a serious matter, we feel that it is important to explain what plagiarism is and what the consequences are.

What Plagiarism is (Two Basic Forms):

                            1. Using someone else's work as your own, without citing the source. This includes direct copying, rephrasing, and summarizing, as well as taking someone else's idea and putting it in different words.

                            2. Not indicating directly quoted passages or ideas even while citing the work as a general source.

What the Consequences of Plagiarism are:

If a paper involves plagiarism of the second kind (less serious), the instructor may ask you to rewrite the paper, using correct forms of documentation.

If a paper involves plagiarism, the instructor is empowered by regulation 0-2 of the University Bulletin award you a failing grade in the course. In addition, the instructor will refer the case to the Dean of Students who will bring charges against you for violating Article II of the UI Student Code of Conduct.

Instructors may demonstrate that a paper involves plagiarism in two ways: 1) by identifying the source, and 2) by showing the discrepancy of style between previous papers and the paper in question.

A final word on plagiarism: we understand the occasional temptation to plagiarize—but we are surprisingly good at recognizing plagiarism. Our basic message is DON'T DO IT. When you need to take something from another person's work—an idea, a powerful statement, a set of facts, or an explanation—cite your source.

                              I warned :

of these coming events long ago , and those were all my original thoughts that a cancer was spreading because of recent events .

And now its coming to pass , and just as predicted !

Can I add the six posts in the non-gambling forum as direct hits to my record , as they were Million Dollar Plays also and they also were posted weeks in advance . But no one see the good anymore , just the malicious discontent and go-for-the throat attitude that seems to prevail here all because of those recent events I spoke of .

I go on record as stating these facts over 6 weeks ago , and can cut & paste that too !

Whos the Hunted here , and Why might I ask ?

What are you trying to prove thats not already a fact ?

Just totally perplexed here as to whats trying to be gained ?
