Living in a nursing home jcheck, means Spark is on a tight budget. I don't think he can fork over any more dough to purchase the extra depends/adult diapers he'd need for drinking a gallon a day. Maybe we can take up a collection at BC

Spark, I went through several weeks with sciatic pain around the time of March Madness this year. Our buddy Bill the Thrill recommended drinking lots of water, took his advice and started drinking up to a gallon of water daily. In about a week the pain quit and fortunately hasn't returned. Still drinking a lot of water, not a gallon a day, matter of fact I'm gonna get up right now and have a big drink of water!

You are so spot on ... Last time it got really bad I was at a restaurant went the family ... I had slight pain all day but nothing too bad at all ... we sat there about an hour and a half ... I went to stand up and that was it .. I went right down ... in the middle of the restaurant ... my brother and brother-in-law was there so they helped me to the car where I laid in the back seat ... I was on the floor for a week after that ... Horrible pain Jimmy ...

I know the feeling, trust me. I have a disc that is broke in half and it can pop out 1 side or the other at anytime. I always carry an emergency 12 pack with me. If this fucker gives out, I am making damn sure I am shit faced by the time I get to the hospital

And I know how you are about going to the doctor, but you should just go and be done with that pain!!!

The bad thing about sciatica is that it could go from 50% pain to 100% in a blink of an eye. One bad move and you're on the floor and not getting up!

Are you going get the injection?

I really have it made with my Doctor at the Headache & Pain Center. I could call this morning and I could get in by 9:30 am. These people I go to are 1st class all the way. Matter of fact, when I have an office visit they hold a Day Surgery appt. on the side for me in case I may need an injection or, like my last appt., the Dr. felt I should get one before my trip to Mississippi. I'm blessed to have such a great team behind me whenever I need it.

I never get pain below the knee ... it is all in my hip and wraps around to my thigh .... no burning sensations in my leg ..


I am laid up for at least a week when it hits real strong ... Luckily I have not had that for years ... but the mild pain, like right now, is there 50% of the time just letting me know it is still around and may start at any time ... Hate it!!

Are you going get the injection?

I totally understand! Those back injections are GOLD!! I go get the injections before the sciatica pain starts. I've had it so many times, I know the process and the beginning of the pain. So when I get the symptoms, like a sore hip/butt pain, or my feet start to burn a bit I go get the shot. The last time the sciatica hit me and "snuck up" on me, I was laid up in bed for 6 days!! Well, no more of that .... I go get the injection!!

Now the lower back ache, I can pop a couple of those pills and poof, it is 70% gone ... but not the sciatic problem ...
