The A's are hopeful that Rich Harden, on the DL with a strained shoulder, will rejoin the rotation next week, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Despite all of Harden's injury troubles over the last couple of years, the A's aren't considering moving him to the bullpen. "First, we want to make sure he's healthy and ready to go," GM Billy Beane said. "We'd be disappointed (to convert Harden to relief) because he's such a great talent and he has the ability to be one of the best starters in the game. That would be a last resort. The best team we can put on the field is with Rich in the starting rotation."

Chace Bryson, of the Oakland Tribune, reports Oakland Athletcs SP Rich Harden (shoulder) did not throw Saturday, April 28, and is expected to go a few more days before he resumes throwing. "He's on the DL, and so we're just giving him some rest," Athletics manager Bob Geren saidEverybody dies, but not everyone lives.

After visiting Monday with Dr. Lewis Yocum, Rich Harden (shoulder) has been advised to rest for up to 10 days.
The good news is that Yocum reportedly found only irritation in the shoulder, rather than structural damage. The San Francisco Chronicle suggests that Harden is "unlikely to start for Oakland until the middle of the month at the earliest." The A's are always hesitant to place players on the disabled list, but in this case it seems like a no-brainer.

Rich Harden, P, Oakland Athletics Saturday 5/12, 8:09 AM CT
Rich Harden said he felt great Friday when he started throwing again for the first time in more than 10 days, according to the Contra Costa Times . Since he just started throwing again, don't expect him to return from his troublesome shoulder until at least late May.
