I feel for you buddy but I can't balme in...he is taking care of his family and it sucks...but how can you fault the guy> I just don't get the college coaches going to the NFL...college coaches have a SWEET gig! They work about 6 months of the year! And don't anyone tell me they recruit. They have recruiting coordinators/assistants that go find the top players and maybe the coach pays a home visit to the top 15-25 players...they don't pound the pavement. Others do the dirty work for them. In the NFL, it is a grueling 12 month job (ok, maybe 11.5 months if you miss the playoffs). That is why I don't blame Saan at all for jumping ship.

Anyway, sorry buddy...hang in there. Who you like tonight? If I had to wager, I think I would take OSU.

Negative----it's not the Coaches, it's what the world is coming to.....The almighty fucking $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$....

There is very limited morality, dedication, loyalty, doing what is right, in very few types of businesses today, and don't kid yourself, College Sports is a Multi million $$$$$$ business today......

Just another of the Old School attributes that have gone astray....just like MLB, when it was a game....look at it now.....

Alumnis and their $$$$$$$$$$ pocket books run the Schools now a days....Not the Deans, and if you believe that over 50 % of the Schools today, put Education beore Sports, what they do, not what they say, then you're naive....

If these Coaches don't take the jobs, someone else will.....

Your right in what you say....but some of these coaches, Petrino, and Saban included follow that money trail.

All it takes is some nos...some commitment to their contracts, to their players, to their recruits who they've told they would be there for x amount of years.

Just say NO.

Easier said then done, I know that...and i dont' put myself in their shoes. But just wish there were more greg schianos of the world in college athletics.

His contract had a buyout clause---they all do----and he's exercising it. This loyalty stuff is crap. If Louisville had floundered, Petriono would have been fired and and no one would have argued the school had to be "loyal" to him.

As for JC, you ought to be grateful for the incredible job he did while he was there. After all, the only coaches who are ured away are the ones who have done great things.

Besides, he spent half a decade at Louisville. It's not like he's Nick Saban or Larry Brown.

For what it's worth, I think Petrino is one of the few college coaches who will do well in the NFL as he is former NFL offensive coordinator

I guarantee you that Petrino sat in a recruit's house less than a month ago and said "You'll be a star at Louisville playing for me for the next 4 years. Just look at my new contract extension." If you think it's fair to lie in the faces of these 18-year old men, then that's your own deal, but when a guy like Greg Schiano can pass up the big bucks to stay at Rutgers, then I don't think it's a no-brainer at all.
