  • Unit Plays vs. Equal Plays

I've been betting for about 10 years now, and I'm still not convinced about the advantages of betting games on a unit basis as opposed to betting all games for the same amount. There seems to be numerous knowledgeable cappers on this site (more than any other site I've seen) so I'm sure someone can present me the logic. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

If you have the bankroll to do it, I have always preferred betting progressive style. It works very well, but you must be patient with it; most people can't do this due to that last factor.

i like the double up strategy myself ... betting $100 + juice on a game and if I lose it betting $200 + 2x Juice for the next game ...

basically I make $100 everyday on sidebets like this ... this is in addition to the plays I make for $1000 or $5000 on the NBA totals ...

If you feel confident enough that you won't lose more than 3 in a row the double up strategy works well ... I've made steady profits of $3000 per month using this method since I started doing it about 7 months ago

Sorry about not getting back to you on that, it didn't cross my mind to recheck the thread again. Progressive means exactly what prolific is talking about, it's exponential. 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, and so on. Of course do it according to your bank roll, so if you are a small player than bet $10/game. If you win stick with $10 until you lose. When you lose, double the next game you play. It works, but you MUST have patience, it's a slow bank building technique. Good Luck

In many cases I agree with you. However, with my NBA games I highly recommend betting them on my posted units. Monday night was a good example. I was 4-3. An average night. BUT I was +700. All my top picks won. My 1* plays went 1-3. A few weeks ago for the week I won 1 game over .500 but my units were way up.

I advise AGAINST this type of money management. Any good capper will tell you its very easy to go 0-5 or worse.

Frank, you are right in a sense; it can be a reckless way of gambling and yes an gambler can go 0-5 pretty quickly. I do this all the time though and I set my base play low to where I am able to go up to 0-9 before I am done. (Which is VERY VERY VERY unlikely, and if it happens CHALK it up to fate and move on) Due to my base unit being "low"; that is why I told him that it takes patiences to play this way. IT's all in what you're willing to risk; never risk more than you're willing to lose.

heheh .. yeah its quite easy to go 0-5 .. with this system i play only one game a day with it ... i have a bankroll where I can go to about 7 levels before i have to call it quits ... it hasn't happened so far so hopefully that continues ..

but i totally agree with you that its a very risky thing to do and should not be tried for the faint of heart

another little trick i do is use a team that is very eraddic and bet on them every game in the double up system ... these eraddic teams rarely go any streaks of winning ats or losing ats and go like 2 wins, 1 loss, 1 win, 2 loss, etc ... one of the teams that i use is milwaukee, where i always bet them to beat the spread and if they lose i double up for their next game .. their longest ats losing streak this season was 3 games and on the 4th game i bet them again ats and continued with the $100/day clip ...

you guys might want to do a little research into this if you have a large bankroll as it seems quite a good way to make money ...

Play a hot team on a winning streak and stay with them until they lose. It works great in bases. Griswold is the master at using that system in the NBA

The one thing about playing the progressive style in the MLB is the juice, always include your juice in the double up so that you can get it back in the long run.
