Got a call last week from Helton Law Group about an old medical bill. I wasn’t sure if it was legit or just a scare tactic. They said they represent a hospital, but the whole conversation felt pushy. I looked them up and found they mostly work with healthcare providers on revenue collection.
I asked for a debt validation letter, and they seemed annoyed. Just a heads up for anyone else getting calls from them: know your rights under the FDCPA. They can’t harass you or lie about what you owe. I’m keeping records of everything in case I need to talk to a consumer attorney.
Anyone else dealt with them? How did you handle it?
