The friendly between these two nations on Sunday was an entertaining game from the neutral point of view with a great 2-2 draw at the Maracana. Brazil were the team that were on top for the entire first half and should have been a few goals to the good, but a great display from Joe Hart kept England in the game. It opened up in the second half with Fred scoring early on and that made England fear the worse but when the Ox came on it changed the game. In the quarter final they were against Paraguay and although they struggled to beat them, Spain ground out the win which shows they were like champions because even when they didnt play at their best they still managed to win games.In the semi final, they were against Germany who had looked unstoppable throughout the tournament, especially in the quarter final. They thrashed Argentina 4-0, they tore their defence to shreds. Germany were the slight favourties going into the game because of their dominant performances and the Germans ending up losing to a header from Carles Puyol.In the final, which definitely wasnt the best final you will ever see, Spain won in extra time from Iniestas goal after a tight affair and a Travis Homer Jersey very dirty game. I think we would have lost to Uruguay but it would have been an easier set of games than Germany then Argentina.To answer my question, England can win the World Cup in Rio because they have the quality of Rooney and a game changer with Oxlade Chamberlain.
