This year there's only one deadline
In years past, we've always the August waiver period, in which trades could still be made so long as the players -- with postseason eligibility still intact -- passed through waivers first. That provided us with a number of compelling post-July 31, often involving big names on big contracts. Starting this season, however, there's no August waiver period, and thus teams must make their trades by July 31 if they want the players they acquire to be eligible for postseason rosters. In other words, the July 31 deadline is the only game in town this season. That raises the stakes, or at least forces buyers and sellers to choose their lanes earlier.

Don't believe Bumgarner is going anywhere as the value the Giants have put on him is too high. And Bumgarner was already being tried to be traded a month ago with no luck.

Noah Syndergaard has a lot of interest but again at age 26 the Mets are asking a lot for him. The Yankees have been trying to work something out but aren't willing to give up certain talent. If I was Noah I would welcome a Yankees trade.

Also if I was Jacob Degrom I would want to be traded as they Met's cant win for him and he's one of the better pitchers in MLB.

Texas could end up dealing Mike Minor and get a decent return.

Matthew Boy could also end up being traded by the Tigers.
