Former longtime NBA coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. is primed to be Tulane's next men's basketball coach, according to multiple reports including CBS Sports.
Dunleavy, who previously coached the Lakers, Bucks, Trail Blazers and Clippers in his 17-year pro tenure, is set to replace Ed Conroy, who was fired earlier this month after the Green Wave finished 12-22.
Tulane has struggled since entering the American Athletic Conference in 2014, winning nine of 36 games in league play.
Dunleavy is 613-716 in his career, earning a Coach of the Year honor in 1999, but hasn't been on the sidelines since 2010. This will be his first coaching stint at the collegiate level. His son, current NBA player Mike Dunleavy Jr., was a star player for Duke in the early 2000s.
