Is The Wells Report Regarding Deflategate a Joke?

Many Professional Handicappers have been stating that they think it's a joke. Of course many Patriot fans agree if not most of them and even may NFL Fans.

The NFLPA (https://www.nflpa.com/) will take the league to court should Brady have to serve even one games suspension due to Deflategate. Now that put's the ball in NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's court.

I don't believe Brady will serve any suspension this year as the well's report is not strong at all. Maybe the season after this one Brady will get a suspension as only time will tell on that one.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has many people questioning his rulings as well as fumbling many of them. Goodell gave a player a 2 game suspension for knocking out his girlfriend and Brady gets a 4 game suspension for at best maybe knowing someone tampered with the footballs? That is absurd!

The hatred for the Patriots has been at a high for a long time now, however the Seahawks have led the league in PED suspensions! With very little being said about this.

Maybe some rule changes need to take place regarding the way the footballs are handled before, during and at halftime.

There has been nothing said about what Brady supposedly said or didn't say in regards to the footballs officially by the Well's report, Goodell etc. So it appears the suspension is for Brady not turning over his personal phone with personal messages, images etc.

Maybe it's time for a new commissioner of the NFL? As Goodell just can't seem to handle anything right!

American Enterprise Institute came out and said:

"The American Enterprise Institute, a not-for-profit, conservative-leaning, Washington-based think tank, released a thorough rebuttal of the Ted Wells Report last week.

Headlined “Deflating Deflategate,” the report discredited the approach taken by Wells and the scientists at Exponent, finding that they used an “unorthodox statistical procedure” that doesn’t match the methodology described in the report, and didn’t investigate all relevant scenarios — namely, that Wells and Exponent didn’t account for the fact that the Colts’ footballs reinflated after being secured in a warm room for 10 to 12 minutes during halftime."

    See: https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2...mzM/story.html

Actual report by The American Enterprise Institute: https://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploa...lls-report.pdf

So far the Wells Report cost the league $5 million dollars!

The Patriots Win season should not have been changed and could open an opportunity for getting some good wagers in on total wins for the season!

The NFL is a joke.... has been for quite some time. And Goodell is a moron. So, how can the Deflate-gate report NOT be a joke as well? Nuff said!

It is hard to tell who the bigger joke is, Goodell or the Patriot apologists. Clearly Brady cheated and Bellacheat was well aware of what was going on.

That being said, the arrogance of the Pats and Brady will be their undoing this time. Goodell was setting himself up to lift the ban, but by getting the NFLPA involved and giving the appearance of "strong arming" Goodell and the NFL, they have backed them into a corner. Goodell and the NFL can't eliminate suspension now, that would give a total weakness signal, and the egos involved will not put up with that.

If Brady would like to sue the NFL, he should be put on the commissioner's list and be forced to remain inactive until such a time that the litigation is resolved.

Can someone just finally do something, have everyone stop whining and bring this thing to an end? The facts are the facts, Bellacheat and the Pats are, and always will be cheaters, that's been proven and confirmed on numerous occasions now.

I agree the way the balls were handled was not appropriate. Plus giving 2 day suspension to a player who knocks out his girlfriend is a joke. And they took that players word that she fell inside the elevator and did nothing until the video came out. So I guess they should be taking Brady's word as well!

What about the points regarding how the balls were handled? Or how the wells report says more than likely Brady knew. Have you read the Actual report by The American Enterprise Institute on the Wells Report? Not the first time that they have gotten involved in an NFL issue and were right. There are a lot of Patriot haters that refuse to look at things with an open mind.

One could say Seattle are cheaters as they have been caught using PED's more than any other team under Pete Carroll, however no one is hardly talking about that.

The same could be said about Pats supporters not looking at things with an open mind. To them, no matter what, or how the pats win its OK. Kind of like old Al Davis, if you aint cheatin, you aint tryin, Just Win Baby. Difference is Pats have already been caught under Bellacheat, so in many peoples minds, any and everything he's done and will do is tainted and has a huge asterik by it.

You can have 10 more reports about the mess and everyone will believe what they want to believe. I'll never believe Brady wasn't involved with deflating the balls, and it sounds like you'll never believe he had anything to do with it, that's the way it goes.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make about the Seahawks. They get caught, admit to it, accept their punishment and move on. Brady and the Pats feel as thought they're above the law and that's why this is such a mess. If Brady would have just been a man, admitted he made the schleps deflate the balls, and apologized, this still wouldn't be the issue it is today. His arrogance and smugness and continued thumbing his nose at the NFL is what's dragging this on.

Maybe, because Brady didn't have anything to do with it and wants everyone to know it. So Brady should go down in history with an asterisk next to his name? You don't think he will make the NFL Hall of Fame? And did you read the report by the The American Enterprise Institute? Are they lying as well? What about how the balls were handled?

You're right I don't agree with the report and it's not, because I'm a Patriot fan. It's, because the report is flawed and only can make assumptions. Plus the report by the The American Enterprise Institute points out several key facts that put big doubt on the Well's report.

Then I have an issue with the suspension when the NFL gives players that knock women out 2 days and give Brady 4 games for something he might have done. And no one is hardly at all talking about that Seattle has the most used PED's players since Pete Carroll took over as head coach. I could easily say that the Seahawks are cheaters and would not have been in the super bowl the last 2 seasons if it were not for the fact that they use PED's heavily.

Can you honestly say that you feel a low level Patriot ball boy employee decided upon himself that he was going to go rogue and let air out of the balls by himself. That Tom Brady and Bellacheat knew nothing about any of this and were blindsided, shocked and dismayed at everything that was involved?

That's were the line of separation occurs IMO. Anti Pats people (myself) don't by some atmospheric fluke theory or that the Pats weren't involved somehow and got caught. Pro Pat people (you) feel like they are being singled out and picked on; never the twain shall meet.

Your Seahawks references don't make sense to me especially when you factor in Hernandez and his admitting to smoking dope on a daily basis and never failing a drug test. If anything, that really makes people believe that Bellacheat and the Pats have been cheating on their pee tests as well. But that's a whole different can of worms. I just don't see how pointing the finger at someone else relates to the pats sins. Goodell has no rhyme or reason to his punishments, I agree with you on Rice. You can also go back through the years to players to who never had charges brought or film or anything else and Goodell suspended acting as judge, juror and excutioner. Again, Goodell absolute power, while wrong, is not the issue here. Pats supporters keep muddying the waters and trying to deflect the blame instead of just admitting that the only way they can have any modicum of success is through cheating. At the end of the day, Bellacheat couldn't win in Cle because he wasn't cheating.

Can you honestly say that the ball boy had enough time to deflate 15 footballs while going to the bathroom?

I don't feel singled out by any means as you're not even addressing The American Institute points that are highly relevant!

As for the Seahawks and dope smoking that has nothing to do with PED's! And now accusing the Patriots of cheating using PED's is a stretch. The point is that would Seattle have been in the superbowl the past 2 seasons if not for using PED's? And the finger pointing that you're referring to is a fact that other things happen in the NFL with little to anything done or said about it. Including the PED's of Seattle and abusing women. These are facts not assumptions like with Brady and Deflategate.

atolunch not to be rude or sound like a jerk as that's not my intention, but you have posted 16 times since 1-20-14 and 11 of them have been about NE so obviously you hate them with a passion. So it's kind of hard for me to rationalize what you're saying.
