The Vikings have deactivated Adrian Peterson for Week 2.
Advice: Peterson won't play this week after he was indicted on child abuse charges Friday. Matt Asiata will start in his place against the Patriots, with rookie Jerick McKinnon taking over as the No. 2 back. The Vikings are also likely to activate Joe Banyard from the practice squad to provide depth.
