Yes this is a terrible thing for everyone. You know Tony hates knowing what happened. I remember an interview he gave after that girl he was racing with injured her back real bad. I remember him saying that he hates messing up other drivers equipment that do not have his resources or $$$$$. I feel for this kids family too. Kid has been racing since he was 4. Drivers respect each other. I know they get mad and fight at times but at all levels of racing there is a lot of respect among the drivers.

The kid drove the #13 and Stewart had the 13th starting position today. Weird.

Stewart is well known for being a hot head. He has been better since his own Stewart-Haas team formed but I think in the heat of the moment, Stewart was like "Who the fuck do you think you are kid" and he went to scare him or brush by him a bit to send a message and he got too close. Will anything come of it? Probably not but I do not believe for a minute that Stewart simply didn't see him. I think he could have easily went low and avoided the whole thing. Again, just my opinion.

You are probably correct. Just trying to see this from Tony's point of view. Do not want to think this could in any way intentional.

I wouldn't be shocked by a civil lawsuit here. Been listening to some guys on the radio. Sprint car drivers, lawyers and others. Heard a couple guys who said it looked like Stewart "burped" the engine when he went by the guy and it caused the back tires to slide out and they caught the guy. Said these cars have no clutch or anything and when you burp the engine with the pedal that it goes right to the rear wheels and kicks them out.

Seems like most think Stewart was clearly trying to send the kid a message and got too close.

I don't disagree with that one bit.
