Hey, I didn't expect anyone to agree but guess what? If he had done it, I bet Auburn is holding a crystal ball today. Plain & simple. I feel pretty good about Mason getting 1 yard on 3 attemps from the 1 yard line, especially considering he had done it all night.

And who cares that he ran for 195 or whatever? That makes my point that he would have gotten one more yard. At 2 PM today on the Jim Rome show I heard someone (for the 1st time) agree with me. Bruce Feldman (Writer) said that Mason would have been better off going down inside the 15 somewhere because way too much time is left on the clock.

I don't care if he ran for 400 yards. If he is smarter and takes a knee at the one, chances are they win. Read his own words. He feels like shit today. Well, you could have changed that Tre if you were thinking team and not touchdown. Maybe next time you will!

He didn't lose the game for them but he sure as hell could have won it if he was a little smarter!

Statistically speaking, I'm not sure if the odds would have been better for them if he had knelt down or whatever. No one can determine that..I can bet you this though..the coach didn't huddle them up before that drive started and say.."guys, if there is about a minute and half left and we have a chance to kneel down and not take the lead while down by three points, do so!" If Tre Mason thought that that was the right play, I'm sure he would have made it. A selfish player that doesn't want to win doesn't play the way he did, period. Another thing is, that drive that Auburn had...what if they DO settle for a FG. Do you think that momentum shifts just a taaaaad bit!? And remember..you say Tre Mason would have had three shots at the endzone if he kneeled it down. I believe FSU had two time outs remaining. They would have called one when he kneeled it and by your strategy, Auburn would have had to kneel it again...unless they just wanted FSU to burn one time out and have the same amount of time remaining. Anyway, if Auburn sticks to that strategy of yours, they kneel or be sure to go down before the goal line on first down. Now you have just TWO shots at the endzone and then a 4th down if you can't get in. Like I said, statistically speaking, maybe your strategy is in Auburn's favor after all. When Mason was about to score that TD I was also hoping they didn't score it so soon...but you can't ask a kid, or anyone for that matter, to analyze EVERY scenario, then guess at what the percentages for those are, and then make a decision mid-run after he broke all of those tackles. I get it if you say that chances would have been better for them if he had knelt it but to say he lost the game on his "decision to score" is crazy. And never quote or say you heard some commentator, analyst, or talk show host agree with you.......do you know how little they actually know!? Tre Mason made the right play...the defense didn't hold up on the last drive. Not his fault

They had 1 timeout left so none of that other stuff matters

and I know one thing Weston, they LOST. If the strategy of stopping at the 1 doesn't work and they go to overtime or something and lose ... so what, they lost anyway. MUCH better chance of winning if they control the ball and clock!

To each his own....this could go on forever. Damn good game. I am excited for the new system next year! I would have loved to see MSU play another one so I could have cashed in with them again...that +7 against Stanford was ridiculous
