Cano wasn't asking ny for a 10 year deal. Comparing the Seattle deal to what cano would have taken from ny is ridiculous. Many reports said he would have taken 7 or 8 years from the Yankees but he wanted the 200 million. Seattle HAD to over pay and offer more years to pry him from ny. Anyone who thinks ny had to match that deal to keep him is crazy.
