How the hell do you give the A.L. Manager of the year to Francona over John Farrell?

That is an absolute sham imo.

Personally I think he got it to make up for 2004 and 2007 when the Sox won the WS and didn't get it.
Hostorically is appears that whoever does the voting doesn't care for the big market teams.

What a joke. Last to 1st and they did it by signing no huge contracts and the ones they signed, everyone said they overpaid. Tied for the best record in baseball too.

They were talking about the voters and a few people left Farrell off the ballot and not even in the top 3 at all. That's a joke and they should lose their vote. One lady had the Oakland, tb and Baltimore managers 1-2-3. Didn't Boston finish ahead of 2 of those teams? You put Showalter ahead of Farrell? Really??

It has zero to do with 04 & 07 and everything to do with personal agendas against certain teams. Again, a joke!

I agree, it is a joke! People that didn't have Farrell in the top 3 should have to forfeit their voting rights!

          I was actually quite shocked.
I thought Farrell would win in a landslide with Francona getting some votes and thats about it.

They interviewed 2 female voters that left Farrell off the ballot today and both basically said based on payroll and resources, Farrell had an advantage over the others. I guess they didn't watch this team a year ago under Valentine huh. They seriously sounded like the dumbest 2 bitches I've heard on radio. One was from Seattle and the other New York.

Yep, me too. I can see Bob Melvin getting some votes, too, but it's really no contest. The whole thing is puzzling.

Farrell had his guys playing their best ball when it counted most. In addition to the points Wayne made in the first paragraph of reply #3, they made a pretty good team look sick in game 6 of the WS. What else do the voters need?

Yup-Melvin for sure is worthy of some votes.
I wonder who the female voters who didn't vote for Farrell at all.
That kind of reminds me of the writer who screwed Ted Williams years ago by leaving him out of the MVP vote entirely.

kb, I'm begging you. Please listen to this interview with 1 of the ladies who didn't have Farrell in her top 3. You won't believe it and you will wonder how she has a vote for this and you don't. Anyone else, please listen and give your opinion too on this woman that actually has a vote. It is mind boggling!!!

To be blunt, she is clueless and stupid-it is a total embarrassment to the sport that she even is in a position to vote on a matter like this.
