What is a POD?

Is this one play? Numerous plays? How does it differ from a "Lock of the Year" as far as hype goes? Thanks for the explanation.

Members picks is for threads that include picks only. Question is fine and no not a sore subject at all. It's just a discussion and not a thread with picks in it so it got moved.

Got it. Why can't those "veteran" posters post one POD? Play of the Day. Not plays of the day. They are quick to criticize the big mouths here but are outrageous with their own picks.

When I see multiple POD's from someone I assume they are drawing attention to those plays cause they have more money bet on those plays than the others. Same as people that post 5*,4*..... Not everybody uses the same system but like I said I treat them as peoples larger than normal plays.

They are drawing attention to themselves. Multiple "PODS" are a contradiction. Rating them would be better but some here have a different name every week for their selections. There is no constistency.

not necessarily........it could be their way of showing how much they like a game.....putting em in different catagories....ie, like this one a little, this one more, this one a lot.....




Multiple "PODS" are a contradiction.

contradiction to what......POD means Pick of the Day, POD's mean PICKssssssssss of the day.........meaning I like these more than the others......wager as you see fit

Rating them would be better


POD = 1*
POD POD = 2*
POD POD POD = 3*
POD POD POD POD = 4* almost a HIASIGO

but some here have a different name every week for their selections.

I call my top rated, 5* POD, a HIASIGO......which strictly means

AS
I
GO

on a bet......equivalent to others GOY's.......


There is no consistency.

we all have different personalities, different methods of expressing ourselves, different styles, etc.....I sometimes try to be humorous, and call em what I think to be funny....sometimes I dedicate em to other members for reasons, like, I know they like that team, that team is a HOMER play for them, they've made a comment or reference to that team B4, or they have some emotions relating to a particular team....

My consistency is that I post every day, no question about what team I like the most, and when I see a PHI SLAMMA JAMA, another reference of mine to load up on, in Baskets, I let the others know about it.....

Despite who we are, and how we express ourselves, do you have any IDEA how bad, lonely a feeling it is to throw out a BIG game, and it doesn't cover....

It also is especially rewarding when you throw out a winner, and the guys, say Thank You Kapt......etc

I can understand your questions/s, but put yourself in a Prediction POSTERS Position, having fun, and see that it's not done to DRAW attention to ones self........not always,....Granted........there are some, but they seem to have floated away from here, I'm referring to the EGO Monsters that once inhabited here........

IMO POD stands for Play of Day ---> Singular, one

POD's mean what? Play of day's? Makes no sense. Again, IMO.

A play of the day is just that, THE BEST SINGLE play of that day. Now if you want to do a POD in NHL & NFL that makes sense. If you like 2 plays a lot and 2 plays a little, that makes it .....

If you like to ladder them on 3 or more levels like small, medium, large, you make just one play as the large one if your gonna put a POD next to it. If there are multiples large plays, make them all 5* or something.

I know, it is a lot of typing for what I thought was a pretty simple answer. POD = ONE. Sorta like a rest. has soups but only one is the "Soup of the Day".

POD = Parent on Duty .... it's what you are when you have little one's and "somebody" (usually her) has to stay sober
