That contract is ridiculous . I just feel like hes a consistent above average qb. He isnt consistently great, just consistently good. I dont see that die hard competitive personality or the intagibles like with brady and manning. A pretty good overall team got him the super bowl this year. I will bank on him to play like shit next year..never disliked the guy, just saying he got a monumental deal compared to what he shoulda got.

Timing is everything in life. He turned down a 5 year $80 million deal last summer. Flacco and the Ravens played one hand of Texas Hold Em and Flacco drew a Royal Flush. Say what you want to about him but he is a winner. I think in past years the team got him to the playoffs, but this year Flacco led the way. Is he inconsistent in the regular season, Yes. But when the playofs start he does nothing but win. Hell he beat Manning and Brady in back to back games on the road. You don't do that by being lucky. Say what you want about him but the dude has outplayed Brady the last 3 times they played each other. Is he worth $20 million? Probably not but let's face it he has the same number of Super Bowl wins as Brees and Peyton Manning so why not pay him what those guys are making. Anyway, next year Aaron Rogers will be the highest paid QB in the league

I don't think anybody deserves it but in reality, I wish they would have given him $40 Million per year, just so they had no money for anybody else. As it is, his huge bump in salary from under 5 million a year to up near 20 million is going to cost them some players that they won't be able to sign. It has to when one player is eating an extra 15 million. It is much easier to build around a 4.6 million QB than it is a 20 million QB.

The baltimore ravens did what they thought was best for the franchise.

Your absolutely right. Tha Ravens are transitioning from an offense to a defensive team. They are going to let some of their defensive players like Ed Rewed and Paul Kruger probably walk. Next year Suggs has a really large cap number and will be 31 so don't be surprised to see him go. It's funny but you can't have it both ways. The teams who have had franchise QBs who have eaten a large part of the cap (N.E. with Brady, Indy with Manning amd the Saints with Brees) have all had shit defenses. I look for the same to happen to the Ravens defense in the future.
