  • NFL Rule TD catch clarifications

Let me see now Megatrons TD catch wasn't a catch because he didn't maintain control throughout the catch, but the ball already had crossed the plane of the endzone. Now today in Chargers game Alexander's catch was a TD catch because he had control when the ball crossed the goal line plane even though he didn't maintain the catch as the ball jiggled when he landed with the ball hitting the ground. Yeah! OK those rulings make perfect sense! It is either one way or the other it can't be both!!! Do these officials and replay judges really expect us to trust anything that they review or reverse. Because frankly I don't!!!!

they definitely leave enough room in the way the rules are written for there still to be some level of doubt.....I didn't lose because this play, but for them to say because he reached the ball out, that was considered a "football move" is pretty crazy...sorry about your loss.....

there was also a call in the TB vs CAR game in which doug martin crossed the goal line, but fumbled after he was in. Schiano saw replay and even celebrated, but review upheld the fumble ruling. the rule needs to be amended or a "sensor" type thing put in place at goal line.
