I feel like their is more to this story. How do they know if he will feel better on Saturday or even next week. Concussions are always week to week like in the NFL where they look for daily progress. Seems VERY weird to me.

One thing I would say as a reason, if an NFL player hasn't recovered and he plays, he's really only endagering himself as opposed to a guy driving a car at 200 mph inches away from other cars. Just my two cents.

Look at RG3 getting a concussion Sunday and he will play Sunday. I don't know if NASCAR has a two week rule or what but something does seem wierd. And how does it come out on Thursday. We knew RG3 had one the second he went to the sideline.

Some of these guys will say anything to get back in the game/car. I would hope there is a two week rule or something like that for Nascar...But yes it is very strange they waited til Thursday to announce this.

That's why I'm guessing it must be something like a 14 day observation or something. But like Wayne said every concussion is different. Why not sit him Saturday night and then check him again next week. I feel like I'm watching Days of Thunder and Jr is Cole Trickle!!!

My 1st thought when i saw this was that he was suspended after the last race for his harsh comments and they decided it was easier to say this instead so people didn't go absolutely crazy about it.

Jr hit the wall at testing in Kansas in August at 40 G's and that's when he said he started having headaches but didn't go seek help cause the chase. After hitting the wall at Dega at 20 G's he said he couldn't put himself or his competitors at risk and decided to go to the doctor. He has to go 5 days in a row without a headache before they will test him again.
