Yea, as a Cub fan, I just knew we'd be stuck with paying him 25 Mill a year for 6 years that he's worthless.

He had to go to an American League team so he could DH. No National League team would sign him for 10 years.

Him being able to DH is irrelevant. Nobody was signing him for his glove even though he is a good fielder. His batting skills are going to erode regardless of whether he is playing in the AL or NL. It really makes you wonder how some of these owners became rich in the first place when you see the way they piss money away on a contract like this. They obviously didn't run their other businesses the way they run their baseball team.

You cannot blame the Angels for overpaying a bit for him. They desperately needed to make a couple of moves to land some guys after years of not wanting to spend any money. They are a horrid offensive team and needed a boost. Having Albert and getting Kendry Morales back will make this team so much better and give them a shot to compete for a Wild Card spot as well as for the division. Look out Yankees and Boston next year as I would not be shocked to see one be beaten out for the wild card spot.

Marlins offered 10 years $275 mill, they wanted him so bad because of the Latin angle. They have no interest in the fat black guy

That would be disgusting to think he would not go to Florida for that amount of money and with all the talent they have down there now.

You add Pujols to the Marlins and they legitimately would be able to contend with Philly all year for that division and for the World Series.

Talked to a guy today who played against him in HS. Says he is 34. If you watched him everyday like we do. You see the chinks in the armour. Aging fast. Will still be good for a while. But, he should have stayed here. People would have accepted it, because of his career here. Greed and ego won out. When he signed that 8 yr contract early on, he did not have a problem with it. Could have got hurt or leveled off. We got his best years. GL to him.
