  • Carson Palmer Headed to the Raiders

Oakland Raiders on verge of getting Carson Palmer from Cincinnati Bengals, sources say - ESPN

Seems a little pricey for a guy who appeared washed up last year and hasn't played since the end of last season. The Raiders sure don't care much about draft picks...

I think you overpay for any QB when you get in this situation

Great move...The Raiders needed a legit QB and now they got one. He's familiar with the Raiders system, has a big arm and needed a change.Raiders typically draft better in the later rounds and 1 of the picks is conditional on performance.I think its a great gamble going forward.Kyle Boller was not the answer...

I like the move This is a trade that was good for both sides.. Palmer is only 31. I think his play the last few years deteriorated as the results of having to deal with the likes of Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens, not to mention the Bengals cheapskate owner Mike Brown. He should have 4-5 good years left. Jason Campbell wasn't the answer nor is Boller. I think Palmer makes the Raiders playoff contenders for the next 5 years.

There is no way I would give up a 1 st round pick on an average QB who is a quitter.

Never been that impressed by Palmer and I will be shocked if he is even a Raider in a couple years.

Palmer is definitely an upgrade at QB, but really who isnt right now, Boller is pretty bad...but you just dont throw away 1st round picks like that...I think this helps both teams for sure, but Raiders gave up way too much.

This MAY turn out to be a good deal for the Raiders, but there is NO QUESTION that this is an unbelievable deal for the Bengals.

Hell is freezing over...Mike Brown makes a smart move!

In general, I think it was a good trade for Oakland and a GREAT trade for Cincy. Oakland hasn't had a stable QB situation since Rich Gannon 8 or 9 years ago and i think Palmer can give them this season and 3-4 more after. He spent enough time in Cincy and i don't blame him for wanting out at this point. I think he will be solid in Oakland and to get a QB on his level, you have to pay dearly.

I think it was GREAT for Cincy because they made their point and got a great deal in the end for a guy who was retired anyway. That money can come off their cap and that 1st & 2nd rounder are very nice. You have a really nice nucleus now with Dalton, Green, Gresham, a nice defense and a bunch of draft picks. Unfortunately, Mr. Brown is still at the controls and he will probably figure out a way to fuck it all up.

The interesting part of this trade is that they are both (4-2) and possibly fighting each other for a WC spot. Assuming they don't win their Division, it could very well come back to bite Cincy in the ass if Oakland gets in and Cincy is on the outside looking in because of this trade at seasons end!

My buddy is a big Oak fan and he is excited. That was a steep price though.

Its an unbelievable deal for the Bengals if they draft the right talent...not that easy when it comes to the Bengal drafts of the past.Last year was there first decent draft in years. One thing people are'nt mentioning is,the Raiders will get a conditional 3rd,4th and possibly 5th round pick for losing 3 key free agents.Like Raven said ,Palmer is only 31 and has had success in the past.We will see...

                            Al Davis would've never approved.
