  • All You Need to Know About the Reasons For the Collapse of the Red Sox

My apologies if this was posted already, but imo this tells most of the story.
There is some great commentary on the Red Sox Forum for those of you who want to follow up on this:

Now they're talking about Francona's pain pill problem? Wow it's getting ugly

Good article Savage it explains a lot. Sounds more like the set of Jersey Shore...jeeez, talk about a dysfunctional group.

Pedroia is rapidly becoming one of my top 10 Sox player's of all time;this article article confirmed my thoughts. The kid plays the game the way it is supposed to be played. Too bad the other players didn't take his lead they may still be playing.

Should be an interesting off season.

I didn't care for the marriage and pill popping stuff mentioned in the article-that is personal stuff and imo not all that relevant to what caused the collapse.

Terry Francona dives into the pool

PHILADELPHIA — Remember the scene in "Vacation" when Clark W. Griswold (Chevy Chase) was at the motel and Christie Brinkley asked him to go swimming?

"This is crazy, this is crazy," he said before jumping in.

Terry Francona is Clark W. Griswold. You can tell when he talks about playing Adrian Gonzalez in right field that he thinks it's crazy. But he also hates the idea of putting David Ortiz on ice for another five games.

Maybe it was the beer that the 3 pitchers were drinking during the game
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning
