I've seen a comment about them eating & drinking during the game. If thats true, then isnt it the JOB of the MANAGER to put a stop to it ?? I would assume since he does MANAGE the team, the control of the clubhouse is his. Correct ??

Can you recall all the games this year that Theo blew leads in the last half of the 9th ??

    I didnt think so.
Imo Bad karma encompasses many things which can affect many players and thus by inference, the entire team.
I don't believe that a lot of this can be overcome by even the best baseball minds in the country.
In a more tangible example, how can anyone quantify how much Lackey's shit attitude toward his teammates such as when they made an error or his disrespect toward Fracona when he was yanked from a game, etc. had a carry over effect to Francona's obvious loss of control of the team and to their own attitude toward the game?
Isn't it possible for example that when teammates saw Francona put up with Lackey's attitude, that on either a conscious or unconscious level, they figured that they could do the same, which could lead to apathy and indifference?

He brought us 2 WS Titles in his 8 years here and even though i agree it's time for him to go, I'll always appreciate him for that!!!

Certain fans really do not know how lucky they are or have been. Until you are a Cubs fan you know jack-shit about losing. If we had a GM that gave us 2 WS and he turned stale with us I would wish him luck in his new venture. I hope he leaves us with the MESS he has left Boston in the last few years

A coward is a person(GM) who lacks courage and turns away from danger.
An example of coward is a man(GM) who runs the other direction after seeing a person(team) who(which) needs help.

Ben Charrington won't miss a beat. He has been Theo's shadow for 8 years. It will be fine and they will be fine. Move on!

Hopefully you are right, but that doesn't change my perception of what I think of Theo's leaving at this juncture.
I fully understand there are no rights or wrong to this matter, but that is my honest and heartfelt opinion.

why is Epstein so coveted according to you? all he does is buy players and boston has the money to buy as many players as NY.

I would give credit to the Rays Gm and manager...why is epstein getting all the love? I dont see the cubs doing anything but spending more money a la Soriano ...

How come Epstein didnt get the manager to straighten up along with the players? The alcohol and maybe drugs has been there for a while...Kevin Millar was the first to talk about it ...

Cashman and the Yankees at leaast reqire their players to "look" professional. he gets more respect from me then epstein
