I REMEMBER A COUPLE YEARS AGO THAT TONY Larusa FOR ST LOUIS KNEW THE RAIN WAS COMING AND CARPENTER WAS LISTED TO PITCH.HE SENT OUT A BULLPEN GUY TO PITCH THE FIRST INNING AND THEN AFTER THE RAIN DELAY CARPENTER CAME OUT AND PITCHED THE REST OF THE GAME.I REMEMBER BECAUSE ALL WAFERS ON THE GAME CAME BACK BECAUSE OF THE PITCHING CHANGE.THE OTHER TEAM WASTED THIS'D STARTING PITCHER BECAUSE HE ONLY WENT 2 INNINGS BEFORE THE DELAY.AFTER A 3 HR RAIN DELAY HE WAS DONE.
