  • Matt Moore will start Game 1

Matt Moore will start Game 1 of the Rays' ALDS matchup against the Rangers.
A risky move by Rays manager Joe Maddon, but one that has the potential to pay off in a major way. Moore, baseball's top pitching prospect, has registered a 2.89 ERA and 15/3 K/BB ratio through his first 9 1/3 major league innings. He fanned 11 hitters in his first major league start last Thursday against the Yankees. James Shields will start Game 2 vs. Texas.

i keep thinking back to kimbrel and what happened to him Wednesday night. He was lights out all year long and when the pressure came he could not handle it.Kimbrel had 46 saves and had 127 k's in only 77 innings and only gave up 18 runs the entire season.

THese numbers are stud numbers and figured he would have the confidence and if the pressure was to much for him then how do u think Matt Moore is going to feel.

Being this young might just be a good thing for him though he might be to young and cocky to be nervous.Who knows

Every player is different , some crap there pants when it gets to NUTS time ,others handle it like it's a walk in the park. We will soon find out what Moore is all about.I'm betting he will do just fine.

With Moore, price, shields and hellickson they're gonna be tough to beat for years. Their offense is a little light though

I bet Niemann gets traded and Davis gets a spot in that rotation. One of those 2 are gone.

I think Davis is their future closer, Niemann is a fine 5th starter. To think they traded Garza also.

Yes, I don't think he's got the stuff to be a good starter
