NFL labor: Owners OK deal, players don’t vote yet
By PAUL NEWBERRY, AP National Writer
COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (AP)—A person familiar with the negotiations tells The Associated Press that players didn’t vote Thursday on a tentative agreement to end the NFL lockout because they had not seen the full proposal approved by owners.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the process is supposed to be secret.

Owners overwhelmingly voted for a tentative agreement earlier Thursday, pending an OK from the players, who later held a conference call to discuss the proposal. That call ended without a vote.

Before the call began, NFL Players Association head DeMaurice Smith wrote in an email to the 32 team representatives: “There is no agreement between the NFL and the players at this time.”

Players aren't ready to play in the heat!

Just kidding... Hopefully just a little hiccup.

Figured they may hold off just to fk with the owners... Hopefully it's no more than that..

im still trying to figure out why the NFL even has a labor union? Are working conditions really that bad? Shit i'd take a 500K+ min salary position that is only required to work 6months out of the year...sit on the bench and laugh all the way to the bank.

I am pretty sure you would not complain about sitting in the luxury box and having your teams value go up by 10 times over the past 15 years either. I never get the argument about the "millionaires complaining" when on the other side you billionaires complaining.

Let them go make millions in the real world if they don't like it.

I am actually not a democrat and last I checked Obama did not hack my account. But I do not understand people saying that the players are too greedy when it is the BILLIONAIRES who want MORE money. And I am pretty sure that the players are the product that fans want to see and not the owners. And I know that most likely 99% of them would not make anywhere near the money doing something else, but that does not mean they can not realize their relative worth while playing football.
