In my opinion, this is a continuation of the failure of the open wheeled crowd to make any inroads in NASCAR.
The only ex-Formula One or ex-Indy car driver to accomplish anything in NASCAR is Montoya. Most of the others have given up, don't have rides, or worse, can't even qualify (sam Hornish).
Red Bull is a power in open wheel racing. It is one of the strongest teams in Formula One, supposedly the ultimate in auto racing. But it has never been able to translate this to NASCAR.
Americans may be in decline in tennis and golf, but in stock car racing, the foreign element has failed miserably.
One other thing:
Dale Jr may win the points championship this year.
I would take Vickers over Jr anyday of the week!!! Vickers, in one of my cars would be in the winner circle atleast 4 times a year.
Did you forget Mr hendrick he was your driver in 2004 and finished
