NORMAN, Oklahoma -- University of Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones has got game on the field as well as off, proposing to his girlfriend Whitney Hand Sunday evening.
Jones and Hand, one of OU's most well-known couples, announced their engagement Sunday evening on Twitter.
"Thank you all for the sweet engagement wishes!!! We are so blessed by all of our sweet friends and can't wait for this journey!!!"
Hand, a guard on the OU women's basketball team shared a picture of the engagement ring to the Twitter world while also expressing her excitement for the NBA finals tweeting "O and the Mavs won!!! #bestdayever"
The couple has dated for two-and-a half years and from the sounds of it, Hand was completely surprised by the proposal.
"I just want to say I gotta give it up to my teammates friends and fam for keeping it a secret... Still blown away!!!!!"

The guy has been chasing Hand for 2 1/2 years, all he needed to do if he wanted Hand, according to JC, was start showering with KB! Would have saved himself a bunch of money!
