So the question now is.....should the catcher in MLB be protected like the QB's in the NFL?

If you notice the 3rd Base side of the plate there was alot of room to slide away from a tag....there was no need to bowl over the catcher........As posey is leaning towards the 1st base side when recieving the relay throw from Rowan.

Pete Rose would of kicked Posey teeth in after he knocked him down. Ty Cobb would of spit on him while he was rolling around on the ground. It baseball not chess. Feel the same way about football.
