the problem i have with DW is a small one but one that has always bothered me.The year that Dale Sr passed away they were having this memorial at a church where DW was going to speak,the nascar chaplain,and i think there was a couple drivers there.Well DW showed up to this event wearing a FOX broadcasting shirt.It bothered me alot to think he was somewhat promoting his self and his employer at a time where fans were showing thier signs of grief and respects.I know this was a stupid thing by me to get upset about but no one else showed up wearing sponsors clothing the rest of the guys were in regular street clothes.I remember him being genuinely hurt by what happened and i remember he even broke down in his speech.I remember him saying that after what happened to Dale he doesnot think he would ever sit down in a race car again.He did end up running a truck race and i dont blame him for that but showing up at a dale sr. tribute where he was the main draw and wearing your company {sponsor} logo struck me in a bad spot.
