  • Bruce Pearl fired

Like him or not.....he's a great coach, although with lots of baggage. He's the guy who somehow got Wisconsin-Milwaukee to the Sweet 16 a few years back.

Some mid-level program ought to hire him. he can rebuild his reputation. Something like Chicago Loyola. You know he'll get rehired eventually. Even Billy Gillispie is back on the job (just hired by A & M)

Hope he gets the Oklahoma job.

Gillispie is back at Texas Tech, not A&M though.

Don't think there's any way in hell Castiglione would hire Pearl at OU. One of the criteria will be that whomever is hired will be squeeky clean, given Sampson's and Taliaferro's history... imo

      That said, I'd take him.

He pushed the envelope and got busted. I have no hard feelings for him at all. He wanted to win sooooooooo bad that he risked it all for a cookout. Someone will get a GREAT coach and will have y'all in the dance next year. Our AD is the stupidest SOB in America. He should have been the one fired!!!

Some of the top recruits for the Vols have asked for a release from their letters of intent.

Guard Kevin Ware from Conyers, Ga., told the Knoxville News Sentinel on Monday that he faxed a request to be released from his national letter of intent to the NCAA and UT. Ware said he was unhappy with Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton, who assured Ware on March 6 that Pearl would remain as UT’s basketball coach.

The status of UT’s other signee, point guard Chris Jones, appears to be up in the air. Jones could seek his release from UT as early as Today, according to a report from WHBQ-TV in Memphis.

Hamilton is a nut job. He handled the Fulmer firing with ZERO class, hired Lane Kiffin which should be grounds for execution and then ran his mouth about the coach 24 hours before the players play in round 1 of the tourney. He needs to be fired ASAP!!!!
