The so called basketball powerhouse conference is a joke

  • #2
College basketball is a crap shoot right now. The top teams didn't do well but getting your 9th and 11th place teams is impressive. No other conference even has teams competetive in those spots. They got two teams thru but Big 12 got 1, SEC 2, Big 10 got 2, ACC 3. And the ACC was kinda down this year. There were 5 mid major teams thru. So if anything it shows that the big conferences got a couple teams each and some smaller schools won. The whole tournament is becoming one big guessing game as more guys got pro and leave these so called power schools with less "big name" talent and making them closer to the pack. And with a single elimination tourney, comes upsets. The big east was still deeper than any conference and every game is usually close. But they have no great teams this year. Heck, aside from maybe a team or tw, there are no real great teams in college at all.

This is the year one of these lower seeds could win it all. Every team is vulnerable in some way and it could happen. Look at Kansas and there road to the final four now. Looks like a cake walk but I would not be surprised to see them lose or anyone for that matter.

The Big 12 didn't have 77 of their teams get into the tournament either. I don't know if I heard anyone hyping the Big 12 all year like ESPN does the Big Least either.

The Big East's out of conference record during the regular season speaks for its self. Uconn was 9-9 in the Big East and did not lost a single game out of conference. They played Kentucky, Texas, Michigan St. and Tennessee all who made the tourney. They are getting this reputation of not performing in the big dance. It could be because they wear themselves out or it could be for some other reason. But to say the Big East is not the deepest conference in America is ridiculous. They may not have that championship contender that everyone wants them to have but overall they are hands down the best. Blew the other conferences out of the water in regular season play!

It is probably pretty hard for this to be very low considering the entire top 20 is in conference on a daily basis.

I agree. The SEC is the powerhouse in football and they back it up every year in the big game. Big east folds up every year come tourney time.
