I happen to agree with the Cards thinking on this one, namely what good is paying Pujols what he wants if the team can't afford to pay the other players enough to meet their demands, meaning they don't have a team which really has a chance of winning a WS.
If whatever zillion dollars they are offering isn't enough to meet his or his greedy agent's needs and to take care of themselves and their familes for life, then let him go elsewhere.
These salaries have gotten way out of control and the poor fan is the one who pays in the long run.
And yes my Red Sox are as guilty of that as anyone else.
